Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

That's weird, they sent an email offering to extend status using points without actually stating how many points?

I'm in a similar boat 42 points short all due to the VA~ requirement, couple of months to go so one return trip with the current promo will get me there, but I'm also very unmotivated

I got similar email offering extension to Platinum status using points when I had already earnt enough credits to maintain status. Admittedly it was only last week a couple of days before review date, but still!!!

Interesting how all this works with some getting bonus extensions and some getting offers to use points.

Also loosing the motivation to keep playing this game

Review date next week and as I have not been crediting my flights with VA to the program I will fall back to Gold for the first time in what must be about 15 years.
Gold is my sweet spot with this program now and I’ll have that for however long VA exists and that will do me nicely. No need to play the game

So they are internally valuing points at 1.5cpp. Not terribly good for flights but still better than redeeming for hair dryer though.

I was told earlier this week that I've dropped to Gold. No offer to extend. Not sure about retaining Gold next year. Next big trip is on JAL.

I am just guessing, but I'd say the tools to extend using points have only recently been developed. I certainly haven't heard of the offers prior to this
