160 ish status credits to retain gold

I didn’t ask how many SCs you were missing, I was wondering what you thought you might be missing by not having gold status given you stated you always fly business?

My understanding is that under the new system, the number of status credits you earn is rounded up to the nearest $12. So, shouldn't the Flex fare earn 27 SCs? What am I missing?



Also, does anyone know a definitive way to see what SC you're going to earn for an upcoming flight you have booked?

The wording changed.

1. From 2 April 2025, Velocity members will earn Status Credits on eligible domestic and short haul international Virgin Australia flights (including Virgin Australia marketed and operated flights, Virgin Australia marketed and Link Airways operated flights or Virgin Australia marketed and Air New Zealand operated flights) based on fare type and the ‘All Inclusive Fare’. Velocity members will earn 1 Status Credit per $12 spent on eligible Virgin Australia Choice, Flex and Business ‘All Inclusive Fares’. Velocity members will earn 1 Status Credit per $24 spent on eligible Virgin Australia Lite ‘All Inclusive Fares’. The ‘All Inclusive Fare’ includes base fare, taxes (including GST), fees and carrier charges and excludes seat selection purchase and other extras, such as Economy X, Preferred Seating, Baggage Allowance or Carbon Offset. Status Credits will be rounded to the nearest Status Credit. Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings. Velocity membership and Status Credit earn are subject to the Membership Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time. Your Status Credit balance is calculated daily based on the previous 365 days. Your Status Credit balance may fluctuate daily as new Status Credits are earned, and older Status Credits reach the end of their validity period. Your Forever Gold Status Credit balance is calculated separately and includes all Status Credits earned from 1 February 2013 onwards. To view your balances, visit My Velocity.

I guess the question was, if you are always flying in J, what is Gold offering that you don't get by being in J?

Firstly you’re missing the point that they don’t have staff in Australia than understand what I’m talking about.

I get lounge access for my kids and a guest etc.

They should be able to change the dates for one more month but “computer says no”.

People on the end of a phone in Manila won't understand your situation.
I got extension to platinum last year after major hand surgery prohibited my flying for some time via email contact after having no luck with call centre.
I assume the emails are answered in Australia
