Make the plane lighter. I saw a doco years ago about WWII planes that had to be in service fast, so they didn't paint them. It improved performance :)

BTW, taken from MEL Flounge ...
Being a regular at MEL; I noticed the image were taken from somewhere high on the terminal; a few reviews of the background etc. and I decided you were Flounging .

Then I viewed later posts as I scrolled down to reply and saw your confirmation. :D

I've done a bit of fiddling with the images to correct the colour (not a complete fix, but better)

Here is one I shot last week (not that the paintwork needs any help with this one :D) - it's a shame the window tinting screws so much with the colour temperature.

I wouldn't expect Atlas Air to get a new paint job for their aircraft in a hurry nor would they care. Isn't Atlas Air a HKG based freight company in the LCC mould?

Ahhh. A couple of years ago I met an Atlas Air pilot on a PER-SIN QF flight and we were chatting throughout the flight. He was based out of HKG and most of his flights were from HKG to the Middle East so I assumed that it was a HKG based freight carrier.

Was on a DJ this morning to Newcastle - Capt' Jaded poked fun at the new 380 on the tarmac in Mel - can't remeber exactly what he called it but I thought to myself he prob would never get the chance to fly one himself...

We left wheel dents in the runway as we slammed into the tarmac at Newcastle - it confirmed my suspicion he was a "wonderful" pilot... and would be shortlisted - hold on, don't you have to be a QF pilot? Sorry Capt Jaded, guess you will miss out...
