Where will you go first when the bans are lifted?

If bans are lifted before Oct then Singapore/Indonesia or Fiji. Otherwise rainy season sets in so no point in going for birding.

Then there is always my favourite home from home - Turkey.

Well, I feel like I am on holidays now. No gym no nofin. Life outside the fast lane is a sort of relief.

Funny that, I see so many posts on other sites about people working from home, including "time to renew that renovation project, catch up on that book you've been meaning to read, spend more time with the kids"..sounds more like a holiday than working from home. And I say this as someone who's been working from home mostly for the past 5yrears..

Get out BNE will be first on the list. Anywhere.

Looks like no SYD for Easter and I'd almost say that Thailand in August is out too.

Don't know when everything will pick up again and if it does airfares may be out of control due to increased demand. Hopefully Thailand sometime this year.

We have a trip that is partially booked to the USA and Canada to go skiing in late December 2020/early January 2021. if travel bans lift earlier than that, I imagine that we may do some domestic travel or over to Bali. We have a few Qantas vouchers that will need to be redeemed!

From memory I think we are booked on a very similar itinerary to you at pretty much exactly the same time so here’s hoping we both make it!

SIN for Xmas followed immediately by NYC for NYE and Canada to ski (Whistler) with a couple of other destinations before and after.

Oh c'mon. You've been saying that forever. Now you just have a proper excuse. 😚 I think I might struggle getting husband on one for a while and he loves them. The 35 person yacht ones maybe. A ferry around Greek Islands? Ah, who knows. Super money probably no longer supports it anyway.

TBH, what's going to be left after all of this is a total guess. Airlines, hotels, cruise lines - they're all in the same battle for survival.

Tas in October for 70th is at best an outside chance.

Christmas in UK with daughter/granddaughter would be lovely, but not getting hopes up.

UK next March for Granddaughter's 9th is the fall back at his stage.

Have got 2 trips booked to India in August & September (hoping everything is OK by then)

Will defo go someplace with a winery - thinking ADL ... but I've never been on a wine tasting trip so far .... would love to do one .. any suggestions? Love to do it domestically, to support Aus businesses :)

EDIT : (Caution : gets boring)

So, I'm this kinda person - someone one who sometimes goes after experience and sometimes goes after what I know best ... and I think after this Corona thing, I will be willing to go after experience ... so I thought I'd do a winery tour. But the thing is, I travel solo (not a personal choice, just never had company) .. anyways ... thinking about my ideal getaway after Corona - I picture myself with a nice glass of wine, nice food, sitting on a porch, looking at the beach or a river or some water body ... if that's too rich, looking over at a city's skyline, well lit and dazzling in the night ... or perhaps, some nice greenery ... look, not sure where, but I'd like to go somewhere I can stay away .. away from my phone, laptop .. away from not sure what, but want to be free in my head and mind and .... yea something like that would be nice ....
