Where is the route map that’s specified in fare rules?

Hi all,

Hoping a travel agent or someone with experience with fare rules can help me out.

I’m looking at the fare rules here for a flight to Hong Kong, which is currently priced based on PER QF xSIN CX HKG.

I’m wondering whether I can tag on a flight from Sydney at the start without being charged the full price for a SYD-PER leg.

The fare rules I’m looking at seem to be saying that the routings allowed are specified by the route map. I’m wondering where the route map is, and how I can find out what’s an allowed route for that fare.

The rules I’m looking at are here Matrix - ITA Software by Google

For these flights: Matrix - ITA Software by Google

Which seem to be charging a normal red e-deal price from Sydney to Perth, on top of the PER-HKG flight.

The specific wording I’m talking about in the fare rules is “THE FARES ARE ROUTE BASED ACCORDING TO SPECIFIED ROUTE MAPS.”

Any help or insight is much appreciated (especially general advice on how to work out valid routines for a specific fare, I’m keen to understand).

Thanks very much!

If you are looking for a fare from SYD you'll need to use the applicable fare from there, and then an allowed routing for that particular fare. TBH I've never seen these route maps, although I've never paid attention to that part of it.

It may be possible to look the map up on Expert Flyer.

@austom , what is the route and fare code - (Those matrix links have expired.)

That's a weird fare which seems to preclude PER-SIN-HKG as valid anyway as it suggest it's a PER- addon to a BNE-HKG fare.

very weird

but anyway in general if you wanted to change the origin city from say PER to SYD you'd have to refare at that appropriate level, though that fare map kind of suggests otherwise in a way. Curious. I've never seen anything quite like hat before

I put that up as an example of what can be extracted - I did not look closely. You are correct, it does preclude a SIN connection.

I'm waiting for @austom's response.

Sorry for the delayed response, and thanks so much for the info everyone :).

Unfortunately I’m getting a 503 error “Error: Service unavailable” when trying to visit ITA matrix now, so I think they might be down at the moment.

Either way, I think it must have been using the fare SLSH1O, based on looking at expert flyer.

That allows the construction PER-SIN-CX/3K-HKG.

I think ITA (and the multi city tool) was then tagging on a red e-deal the day before, and charging that separately.

Thanks for the info on how to find the routings, I can’t believe I never clicked that button in Expertflyer!
