A lot of domestic travel expected but internationally only a wedding in Wellington NZ in Jan and a Caribbean cruise in later Oct. Although if 2018 is anything like 2017 there are many more trips to come that I just don't know about yet.

Gday

CNY in Malaysia in Feb coming back via Tokyo.

The big one is the World Cup in Russia in June/July. Will have a day in Zurich on the way over, a stop in Helsinki, and hopefully get a few days in Azerbaijan and/or Turkey at the end. Cant wait.

Pele.

yes please - I can try asking. We had an amazing guide when we were there in 2014, but he has left. He was half Tanzanian and half Ukrainian!

That's an interesting combination! His name is Calson Luka. He's been with Singita for a year, previously with Asilia and was based in northern Serengeti for a number of years. If you do get him, please tell him Kellie recommended him. Have a great trip! I might be over that way myself in October.

Well Santiago to Mendoza will be daytime (6 or so hours) with the intent of photography so that section can be almost anything and I'll be happy as long as the weather is agreeable. On to Cordoba or Rosario will be cama if I can find it.

Happy wandering
Fred

thank-you will do that :). It is all very addictive isn’t it!

Jimmy’s father was sent to do a Uni course in the Ukraine and married over there and brought her back to Tanzania. They both died young apparently so Jimmy was working at Singita to put himself and his sister through Uni. He kept his sister there, but dropped out to work for a bit to get funds and then would go back to Uni for a year himself. Terrific guide with a real love of both the environment and the animals. We had him for 9 days so got to know him quite well. I am assuming he has now finished his course and is working as Singita said he wasn’t there anymore.

Well not quite 2018, but as for bucket lists I am doing a sightseeing trip over Antarctica for NYE with Antarctica Flights & Qantas.

I did it from PER on Australia Day this year (TR link below). Great experience. Are you going from SYD? I'll be interested in the route map. TR please!

I would love to do this but think I’d have to pay for the expensive seats as I can’t see economy would be enough for me. But I need to win the lottery first.

2017 was a productive year... starting the year in Europe, Easter in Vietnam and November in the Philippines.

2018 is shaping up to be just as busy - Japan & Hawaii just after Easter, Hong Kong & China booked for September, with Mrs tizey booked for Zurich in July and potentially Christmas 2018.

2019 planning already underway... a tropical destination for a week over easter for me, and then hopefully a *A RTW J class trip for Christmas/New Years 2019 between Europe & USA/Canada.

Just need a few more points for the Tropical getaway and then 2019 bookings rely on awards opening up and being caught early... then its start banking those signup bonuses for 2020 and beyond. Can never be too prepared in this game!

In August we are flying to Copenhagen and going on a Baltic cruise, after the cruise we have a week in Iceland and than off to Italy for two weeks and a few days in Switzerland before flying home from Zurich.

This is our first flight for the year :) MIA for a conference, then a jaunt to Galapagos, Quito + Lima/Cuzco, taking advantage of a J "sale" fare on AV. Plus a whole lot of overnighters (SAN, JFK, HKG).

March, conference in SYD. Checking out the new Hilton hotel (West).

In August, annual ski trip with friends - normally it's to ZQN, I'm going to try very hard to convince the other members to go somewhere more interesting.

October, conference in Amman, Jordan. Will probably look at an Intrepid tour or similar after this ... maybe over to Cairo, hoping to pick up one of the great sales from CAI.

Hmm seems I've got a big hole from Mar-Aug ... must plan something! Over to premium fare deals on FT I go :D

Also happy for any recommendations for the above.

I can recommend this Exodus tour of Jordan: A Week in Jordan (I'm sure Intrepid has one very similar as they seem, essentially, to be an Australian version of Exodus. I've done trips with both and they pitch very similarly). My strong recommendation is to ensure two full days at Petra to fully explore the valley and the hills.

I can also recommend this Intrepid tour of Egypt: Egypt Experience | Egypt Tours | Intrepid Travel AU. I'm currently in the middle of a TR on this: A North Africa and Middle East ramble

A TR on the Jordan trip is included in my 'RTW 2017' link in my signature.

SEP18, OCT18, NOV18, DEC18 - There will be something, just don’t know what yet. But serious Wanderlust will be hitting around September...

About half as many flights in 2018 compared to 2017 (22 vs 56) booked so far but plenty of time to be tempted.

Jan/Feb - USA with some time in HCMC and Bangkok on the way back (plus a couple domestic trips to ADL and TMW)
Mar/Apr - HK then UK then EU (only planned the first week in London, still working out what I'm filling in the rest with. Only definite is flying out of AMS)
May - (early) Tasmania, (late) ASP, DRW
Jun and onwards? Who knows... hoping to organize a RTW trip, possibly for Sep/Oct - depending on points balances and work.

Bit of a late bloomer, so my first time trying:
- QR J
- EK J
- CX J
- SQ J
(for the record, so far experienced: QF J, VA J, AA J, NZ J - so hoping to be impressed!)
