SEP18, OCT18, NOV18, DEC18 - There will be something, just don’t know what yet. But serious Wanderlust will be hitting around September...

I have a couple of friends heading to the World Dog Show too!

Boring as heck...
MEL-WTB monthly on TL
MEL-SIN-HKG quarterly on SQ J credit to VA.
MEL-SYD probably every few weeks on VA - usually on points (Y or J), including enough paid sectors to maintain WP.
If i'm lucky, MEL-SYD-NOU.

Tons of domestic trips booked to SYD & NTL, with another visit to HBA for Dark mof_ in June

And a Status Run to WLG to help retain WP next month on the cards.

Pretty boring at this point in time.

Can you tell us a bit more about this tour?
That's totally self-managed "detour" on my way to Korea where I work. Main reason is Anadyr (DYR) capital city for Chukotka and abandoned soviet nuclear missiles base carved in permafrost inside mount. That's a full scale tube tunnel in the middle of nowhere!
Gudym: The Soviet town that threatened America’s West Coast
And ice fishing, reindeer herding ...
Other points on the route is stopovers in Magadan (GULAG capital), Yakutsk (hope for temperatures below 50 there) and Harbin in China, there is no other way to get south as logistics really tough there with like 1 flight a week and even this could be easily delayed by weather.

Definite Trip Report material. Never done one? Easy - just tell what you did and saw (and ate/drunk if you are so inclined) which ever way you like :). Pics are good, too.

Gee this is a great thread, a lot of intrepid travellers on here.
Wife and I are off to Istanbul and Greek Islands early July on SIA J redemption.
I'm sure I'll do a couple of Bali surfing weekends.
Wife is talking about a business trip to North Carolina.
I love to fly!!!!

I'm told we're going to Strasbourg, but I would much prefer to go to Portugal as the plan is for December..

Sure, but we'll be there or close by in June, and given the likely weather in December I would much prefer sunny Porto by the sea...

It's a family thing so I'm on a hiding to nothing.

Lots planned for 2018!

1. Bali with Jetstar for 10 days in January (boring flight but staying at my favourite SPG property in Bali)
2. Japan for 2.5 weeks (taking advantage of the Marriott Holiday Packages, enough for 2 business class return on JAL Dreamliner and one week at the RC Tokyo)
3. Middle East and Europe (3-4 weeks, will redeem miles on Etihad first class for this one)
4. USA and Mexico for 3 weeks (booked Singapore first)
5. If we have time then maybe a quick New Caledonia trip in December (revenue ticket)

Long time lurker, but new member and first time poster :) Love reading everyone's travels and experiences. Based in NZ. Thought I'd kick off my membership by replying to this thread...

Heading to east coast USA on business for a couple of weeks in April

In June and July, will be in Europe - not quite sure where yet, all I know is that I have to be in Kerry, Ireland for a wedding and to Iceland for a week. Which leaves me with two weeks.. currently debating to spend this time doing (1) Longyearbyean/Svalbard, (2) the Caucasus, (3) Israel or (4) Iran.

Then to Japan later in the year (I go to Japan every year... I love that friggin place!)

My usual SYD/BKK/SYD for three months, from 1st June, 2018, to avoid Sydney's "winter"! Not sure if I will do my usual visit to Osaka this year, but we shall see...LOL!

Couldn't decide where to go after Laos, before coming home, thought about Krabi, Koh Samui or Langkawi, but have decided to go to Sabah, always been on my want list and good price MAH J class for the sc's......

Will you try and see the orangutans whilst you are there?
