Platinum
Can anyone remind me when next anticipated double status credit promotion is likely?
Thanks

10 SC each way plus 7.5 SC bonus SC each way. Rounded down that becomes 7 bonus SC each way = 14 bonus SC in total. There should be a separate line entry for the bonus SC for each flight.

I wonder if Qantas will be more targeted in their dsc now they have supposedly a better it system?

I got an interesting one today - 50% bonus on flights to singapore. Travelling once a month I have flown the last few times on sq. I have also flown 3k / mh / ul out of Singapore recently so they have worked out I am not flying them all the time to Singers, and trying to get me back.

Likewise here, have got some targetted DSC on Intl. flights out of Aus. I've been searching for and travelling to India frequently in the last few months..

But surprisingly, I got a DSC yday to South America ... never searched for or been to South America

(First World Problem). Venting!
Recently took advantage of a personalised bonus SC offer entitled "Personalised offer 75% more Status Credits". Booked a return flight Syd-Bris, so I anticipated earning an extra 15SC on top of the 10SC. Bonus SC have dropped today and I have received 14 SC .
The bonus 75% would be applied to each sector separately so if you had booked something like OOL-SYD-MEL-SYD-OOL then you'd lose 2 SCs earning a bonus 28 SCs rather than a bonus 30 SCs.

I've already got enough bookings to make Gold, and even with another U.S. trip to book probably won't make the 1400 S.C.s needed for Platinum so I'm wondering when the next double points offer might be as might be better off getting double points rather than DSC's...

Hoping to see a global DSC come up soon *fingers crossed* I've got a heavy two months of domestic and an international to book in October.

Considering when the most recent Global DSC offer’s flying period runs out I wouldn’t be surprised to see another Global DSC offer at any time now.

After the current Around the World in 8 Days sale?

Yeah we'll see.

I am not so sure. Given the high number of targetiung over recent months it seems clear this is the way they would prefer to go.

It would be nice to see one, but I'm not hanging my hat on it tbh.

A targeted 50% bonus SC offer is nice, but I need double, but then a DSC offer that's targeted might not cover the length of time I need. Without a DSC offer I may decide to try do my trip on points and save my cash.

I think there's enough of an incentive for QF to do a DSC offer at some point.

For me I’d want the offer to ideally cover nearly 12 months of travel. An offer that only covered flights through to around Christmas would mean I’d probably wait and hope for another offer early next year.

Unlikely. Last DSC offer was for a much shorter period than previous ones. Looks like they're making them less attractive.

The targeted DSC offers always offer a destination and time period for which I already have a booking, so have never been able to take advantage. So never prompt me to make an extra booking.

I prefer the mass DSC offers as has flexibility meaning I can try and find a way to leverage and therefore am more likely to plan an extra trip and result in extra revenue for Qantas.

Either way QF gets revenue by you using points. So... I am not so sure about "incentive" on their part.

Potentially closer to the end of your membership year if the algorithm notices your spend is down they may target but if you do your trip(s) anyway they may see it as a similar travel pattern.

And it all depends on the demand picture for the airline going forward.

I see zero guarantees. Still good luck. Hope you get what you want.. remember though beggars can't be choosers

Yes that has been the recent pattern for sure, but I just saw today a copy of a new targeted 50% bonus offer with no destination limit, just +50% with a 7 day booking window and travel till 27 November, 2019.

So they're mixing it up :)

I think we all would :)

Seems QF have gotten smarter, or invested in better CRM technology to more finely manage this. Makes sense for them even if many of us do not receive what we'd like. Smarter way for them to do business IMO.

Last year I recall Qantas running a DSC promotion in early August. Dont remember whether it was targeted or a general one. Anyone heard of any mutterings of one coming this August? I'm sitting on a bunch of bookings that need to be made and holding out for the hope of those lovely DSCs.

My guess: a limited window (for flights between September & December 2019) DSC offer in September.

Reasons:

1. Will prompt some people hoping for a DSC in August to give up hope and make their bookings, getting them to fork over their cash for less in return from QF.
2. Last DSC covered the period up until the end of August.
3. Qantas gradually reducing attractiveness of DSC offers by reducing the flight window.
