What I ate today - the food thread

Where did you din? I’ll be there at the end of the year.
Bluff oyster season is March to August.

We were there in March and had a doz at Fowler’s (first place one left) and then another doz or two at Oyster Cove (looking over the ocean).

Very nice, but TBH I prefer Sydney Rock - both north and south coast NSW.

We love them all :)

Catch up with Pilot Nephew who "flew" the red eye yesterday (and of course Party Aunty my sister) for cheap 'n cheerful Chinese at Long Dragon Dumpling House, Kings Way Melbourne

Steamed rice, Chinese tea ~ 30 bucks a head.
No licence but BYO wine $3 pp. Place was full by 6.30pm, 90% Asian patrons which is always a sign of a good feed.

They may get one soon

I remember years ago when I was in France and I told my friend we were going to a 1 Michelin star restaurant and she said only one star can't we go somewhere better. She now understands the Michelin system and it was superb

Who’s to know we weren’t Michelin inspectors!

Today was at the Brisbane Club:

Entree was delightful. Prawns were juicy and the aioli and naam Jim were flavoursome

Beef cheek was well cooked and fell apart. The other option (chicken) looked lovely.

As I don’t drink coffee, the enjoyment factor with the tiramisu wasn’t there. Washed down with the remnants of my red wine.
