What I ate today - the food thread

Lunch this week at Inka, with client and another friend in Canberra.

From Mojo WLG - Open Mozzarella Omelette with Mushroom and Spinach. Washed down with a long black.
Service can be a bit hit and miss, but the kitchen turns out tasty food.

Lunch in Porto. Mr Ellen10 just had to try the local dish Francesinha, a stack of steak, ham, cheese,egg sausage on bread covered in some sort of sauce. He said it was delicious.
I had prosciutto and melon, also delicious. Accompanied by beers on a warm Porto day by the water

Breakfast QR 831 on Friday. French toast.




Then snack. We both had the lamb shank.



Mrsdrron thought that the lamb shank on JQ was better. A bit dry, not that much taste and a significant amount of fat.

Then I had the cheese board which was very good and Mrsdrron had coconut banana with coconut ice cream which was OK.

They were very accommodating and did a smaller serve for me
Cauliflower, potato and leek soup

Prawn Brioche with celeriac and tomato Remoulade

Chilli caramel pork with chargilled brussel sprouts
Some greens to be healthy

Mr Flyfrequently went the slow roasted lamb - again.
Didn't get a pic but believe it was tasty

And for me profiterole for dessert
Ice cream for him

Tonight’s dinner at Maenan Abbey, Wales
I began with venison pate with just a hint of chilli. Loved it.

Mrsdrron missed the starter. She had the salmon for main.


I the red mullet. Beautiful.


Fresh veggies.


And we both had a lovely sticky date pudding.


Enjoyed it immensely. Then a chat in the lounge with our host and other guests to round off a lovely evening

Prawns Szechuan (more like shrimps)
Crispy Pork Belly

Steamed Rice
The Pork was exceptional!
Banana Fritters for him and Pandan Gulang for me.


One of the few places now in Bali Collection with "free transport" back to your hotel.
Still reasonably priced ~ AUD 63 including taxes, 2 coughtails and a lemonade.
