What I ate today - the food thread

Our last Darwin meal. Late lunch at Moorish Cafe.
First whiskey and juniper marinated salmon. Delicious.

Chorizo. Because I like it.

Then scallops. Perfect. Note no roe. That’s because they use the roe as an ingredient in another dish.

Beautiful lamb strips.

For dessert Mrsdrron had the Turkish delight ice cream.

I had the crepe with ice cream, dulce de leche and Humpty Doo honey.

Mrsdrron had a carafe of Sav Blanc and I a NT beer.

Based on the fork for scale I would not have guessed that as an 800g ribeye, as i have no doubt it is - I’m jealous.

Reverse seared or?
I tell a fib, it was 778 gm but it was mighty thick @Steady

And can't answer your question - I am not allowed near the chef to observe his skills, but it was melt in your mouth tender.

Saturday night dinner with my Best Man and his wife. Tziki Bar Forest Glen. From the feast menu for 4 - pita bread plus dips, grilled halloumi roast lamb, Greek salad, lemon potatoes and assorted desserts.

Lunch at a small village in the middle of the SpreeWald. This was during a break on our punt tour

Very local with a SpreeWald fish brotchen, sliced gherkins in a sort of yoghurt , and kartoffel wedges with quark topping

On the punt we had gherkin lemonade. The giant gherkin is a bottle opener.
