Fried Prawns coated in something I can't remember!


Deep Fried Prawn and Pate Spring Rolls with salad

With Steamed Rice

Back to Pullman for dessert

Mekong Dark Chocolate mousse cake

Not particularly hungry for dinner tonight. At Azure Pullman Danang because we had a snack mid afternoon

Melo Choco, Chocolate Brownie, chocolate Ice-cream, chocolate sauce

Comes in a big ice brick!

And for our light dinner

Tapas of Prawn Remoulade on toasted brioche with Grilled Prawns for me

I find it hard to enjoy eating in the heat and humidity, so on occasion the hotel restaurant suits me.

Dinner at Thai Room, ADL CBD.

Excellent feed. Most dishes that a vego/vegan option. Went with the vegan options for all my dishes. Personally, the main dish serving size could have been slightly bigger but otherwise amazing food, amazing environment and staff.

Had the crumbled eggplant, green curry, rice and roti. Washed it all with a Green and Jasmine tea, served in a pot - was sufficient for 2 people.

Dinner with a fellow AFF’er at Olive, ADL CBD. Had a great time - awesome chats about flying first class, earning QF points and many more

Went with the Feed Me menu. Restaurant was happy to replace the meat dishes with veg dishes within the Feed Me menu. So yayy!!



Started with warm olives



Followed by focaccia and hummus



Followed by zucchini chips, whipped feta and sumac dip



Followed by salt baked beetroot salad with stracciatella, artichoke chips - veg replacement option



Followed by iceberg lettuce wedges with dill dressing



Followed by ricotta gnocchi - veg replacement option



Followed by roast cabbage, macadamia puree



Followed by Persian braised eggplant - veg replacement option



Followed by pistachio baklava, olive oil ice cream - had olive oil ice cream for the first time. Not a huge fan of the flaky pastry they served.

Yesterday lunch was at Tattersalls Brisbane, Chandelier Room. Level 2 overlooking the bar.

On the other side is the main dining room I presume (I’m not a member):







This was my entree below. Refreshing and light. Just needed some fluid (so used my red wine).



My main was the barramundi (didn’t get a chance to snap the beef). The red pepper tapenade was the standout (underneath the fish, which was perfectly cooked).

When you order your vego meal, do you check that some of the food hasn’t been fried in the same oil as fish or does that not bother you?

Tonight's dinner . Meraki Greek taverna Darwin.
Calamari. Perfectly cooked.


Then mrsdrron enjoyed a Greek classic lamb cutlets.


Whilst I really enjoyed my Spetsofay with a lovely spicy sausage with capsicums, eggplant and tomatoes.


Then Mrsdrron had Baklava and I Galaktosouriko. No picture of the Baklava.


And of course washed down with a bottle of sav Blanc.


Great service though acoustics lousy. You do need to book. We turned up 5 minutes after opening and got the last table.

He had the rib eye - any beef dish in Vietnam has been disappointing


I had the most delicious Grilled Prawns with asparagus

Today it’s just to annoy @JohnM. We had a late lunch at Moorish Cafe, Darwin. Great food and service.
We shared snapper cerviche with finger lime, scallops with balsamic and garlic, portobello mushrooms with cauliflower purée and bone marrow.











For dessert Mrsdrron had the Turkisu delight ice cream and I crema Catalana.




Food and service excellent.

Another day, another lunch. Supernormal at Brisbane, but in the main restaurant not in the private room upstairs.

Looked at the ala carte menu and the banquets and recommended to our host that the banquets were a great way to sample many dishes.

She’s from Melbourne and knows their sister restaurant down there.











She liked the idea of Banquet 1 (she was South African and loved the idea of a number of Aussie seafoods):

















Delightful - every dish was delicious.

Lunch Moorish Darwin. We shared jewfish in coconut cream and lime, marinated salmon though sadly no photo, bone marrow and herbed lamb strips.






All excellent. We will be back for late lunch tomorrow.

Tonight at Wharf One, Darwin. First the menu.












So we shared the prawns and octopus. Both very tasty.




Then shared the scallops and pumpkin. Both excellent.



And I had the tuna with wasabi mayo. Loved it.

We started with the Happy hour special of a bottle of Sav Blanc with hummus and crostini no picture.
Lovely position, great staff and food.

9.5. Was very good. Very good service as well. Sommelier was good (not that I take their advice!). Simon comes out at the end to each table and chats etc.
