When I see a new car that was really cute city car and I have obviously misread the car badge. Grumpy now

It hasn't really cheesed me off, but has made me a tad annoyed. One toll road near Como has no booths, you must be registered and pay by credit card, or have an account.

Had register license plate, had to tell them it was a rental and give them the hire dates, fair enough, don't want to pay others tolls.

Checked account later, 70 euro cents, dare say the cc fee will be more!

Got an email last week stating that a car with this rego number had been used again on this road. I have to pay 50 euro cents within 15 days.

I had told them my start and end dates, so I'll be very annoyed if this goes any further.

As an aside, I read in the SMH traveller section of a renter picking up a newish car in Milan. Going south on a motorway he was "brake checked". Fortunately being a newish car the sensors activated and it stopped before impact. The other driver said "sorry", yeah, right, as a rear end collision the following car would probably have been at fault, nice insurance scam.

Think I might take my dash cam next time!

Don't make donations via these pop-up booths as the marketing company takes 85-90% of the donation. You pay $1 and only 10-15cents makes it to the charity. Collectors get paid and work under a pyramid structure with the supervisor getting the largest chunk. The supervisor can have more than one structure under their umbrella. These sub-groups of supervised collectors then pay to the main company structure that then pays what is left to the charity.
Have you noticed how keen some of the collectors are to engage you?
Not assumption. I know someone who worked for one of these marketing outfits. The charity gets very little of your donation.

I think the term is 'chuggers' (ie charity muggers). Always give them a wide berth.
