What cheeses me off

Renting atm. New build. Short on car parks. We only have one park and just a 30min park on street so awkward. Huge shared driveway of a few tenants and no parking there allowed. Next door neighbour always has mates over after work. They park on the footpath etc. Last Sat night one of them parked on the driveway next to our side fence. We just shrugged it off as typical. Seems someone complained. We got the complaint email addressed to us. Needless to say the Property Manager got a rather terse letter. But there’s only 1 tenant who might have complained and he kicks up a racket (we actually jump) when he roars in on his Harley and he has a clapped out EH Holden so not sure what’s going on. 🤷‍♀️

WCMO is letter sizes are inconsistent all over. For example, a 2XL in one place is different size to a 2XL at another.

Sometimes the difference is not even close. And then you get no guiding measurements.

Small issue compared to everything else going on in the vicinity but my Oman Air Business Studio in May has been downgraded to Business. Told to collect the refund for the downgrade when in MCT
Not sure how I'll go with ORC as Business Studio is supposed to earn F QF SCs

Went to apply for QLD seniors card. They want QLD drivers licence or proof of age card.

Silly me has not transferred licence (yes I know) but I don't have a proof of age that costs $77.40 to obtain and is useless when you have other photo ID.

So why isn't a passport issued by Commonwealth of Australia accepted? I have proof of paying rent in QLD?

That does sound like bureaucracy at its best

Possibly because you have to be a permanent resident in QLD. You must have a QLD address linked to you and the address needs to be linked to Centrelink, electoral roll. Proof of rent is not accepted because you can pay rent from abroad.

A QLD DL would solve that issue.

Again, a passport or similar DOES NOT provide evidence of residency in QLD.
A Centrelink CRN, DVA, QLD drivers license or proof of age card is required.
Apologies and point taken. I misread the original post as being QLD license AND proof of age card (rather than license OR proof of age card).

Pretty nasty fine if you get caught driving in Queensland on an interstate drivers licence when you have been here more than 90 days. A friend got done a few years back, 4K plus fine

So you are complaining about not being able to get a Qld Seniors card when you haven't done the requirements to move your Driver's licence up there ?

It sounds like would have been very easy to obtain had you just updated your address to Qld

Because drivers licence proves residency. With photo id. A rent payment doesn't prove that you in particular live there. No photo. Passports prove ID but not state residency.

How would they know?

@JohnK
If you have a DL from another state, say NSW, just apply for the NSW Seniors card.
I think the NSW Seniors card is accepted in many places in QLD, though it wont be accepted for transport discounts.

I have a Victorian Seniors card. With that I was able to get a Senior's Go card. (Also, Senior's Opal, ACT MyWay+ and discounted SA travel card.)

I also have concession Opal, Myki and Queensland discount cards.

One of the election promises in the recent SA election was everyone over 60 gets a seniors card which gives you free public transport 24/7 - I use PT a bit but might be a lot more soon with petrol prices the way they are
