What cheeses me off

OK it's summer, it's beach time, and I mourn the loss of Australia's wonderful beaches, they feel worse than European beaches now.

This week been down at the local beach near our holiday house, and several times we struggled to find a small patch of sand to put a couple of towels on. It never used to be like this..

Nevermind, I'm not going back this month, but probably will be back during second half of Feb when the weather is more consistent, the water is warmer and the crowds have subsided (IMHO optimal time for beach in southern Victoria is mid Feb - mid Mar).
As a Vic peninsula local @dajop , it is not only the beaches - we don't bother to go till 1st week of February, though I do my daily walk by 8am most days.

It is the traffic, the not necessarily polite folk who shop in packs of 4+ in our supermarket and the chemist, being unable to park outside our house, and don't get me started on barely clothed folk male and especially female 🤦‍♀️

Rant over.
Less than 30 sleeps and life returns to normal.
I love where we live for 10 months of the year 😉

As a retired teacher, I now look forward to the end of school holidays, with excitement.

Commented in the chemist that I needed the receipt to claim some rather pricy medication. Got home and found the receipt they gave me was the eftpos one, and not the proper tax invoice. Why aren't they just handing it over by default?!

I have to ask every time and it really annoys me.

We were so lucky with the weather on NYE as we booked a Ute from Bunnings to get some new outdoor furniture and take some green and metal waste to the tip and collect some mulch.

As the temperature was only about 16-17C we were spared the day trippers on the Great Ocean Road and we were able to make the trips back and forth with ease. If it had been warmer, each of return trips (which is 12km) could have taken a good hour or more instead of 15mins.

On regular warm summer days at this time of year the bicycle is by far the best way to get to the shops and back - despite a very long steep hill to climb on the way back. Or better still come back in February !

It's annoying these days that you are even asked. Thought it was mandatory.

Have you seen the price of a roll of receipt paper lately?

I have found that more and more I have to ask for a receipt in most places I go.
The places that still ask I usually decline… I don’t know how many people still take them? Unless, as Pushka mentions, I’m going to another shop with the same items!

Overseas I take them sometimes, just in case there’s an issue down the track and I need to sort something out with the bank.

Difference between a tax receipt and a regular receipt, I don’t think the tax receipt is mandatory, or even the regular one!

Yes. Mandatory Tax Invoice if business is registered for GST and goods over $82.50 🙃 or customer asks for one.
My scripts are usually over that amount but they always ask.

WCMO tonight is ducking into Woolies without my glasses a few mins before closing to grab some small protein yoghurt tubs to make my chia pudding for breakfast only to find out once home that i got one yoghurt and one weird pudding thing! Carbs in the protein pudding way too high for the protein it offers :(
