What cheeses me off

I discovered the unfortunate side effect of being healthy today. After 6 years, I tried to make a booking at my doctors, only to be told I have been ‘de-activated’ and see my regular GP. “But you are my regular GP/clinic, I haven’t been sick so haven’t come in” I explained. Obviously have had COVID but no need to visit for that. Despite going there exclusively for over 20 years, having 3 kids and wife using the clinic, the receptionist wouldn’t budge.

Living regionally, I now have the arduous task of finding a clinic taking new patients or be prepared to travel 100km+. Looks like clinics are now running loyalty based access programs.
Have you considered asking for a meeting with the practice manager? A friend of mine had a “dispute” with an over zealous receptionist which was instantly resolved once the practice manager got involved

Went to Coles last night.

Used self serve check-out and paid cash. The change was 10c short. Yes it's only 10 cents but....

The lady at the self serve check-out totally disinterested. Yes I know it's only 10 cents but that's not the point. Is it? Still disinterested. The lady at service desk gave me 10c cents.

Yes it's only 10 cents but the correct change was not given. Yes I can easily walk away but I didn't walk away and won't walk away if happens again in future.

If you were short by 10 cents when paying into the machine it would NOT say - don't worry about it !! They would have paid you far more attention and eventually removed an item so you had sufficient to pay. Funny how it would not work the other way !

I had a call with the practice manager today and immediately given an appointment. All resolved once escalated.

They should also still have all your records (7 years for adults, 7 years after turning 18 for children). Which would prove you aren't "new".

I agree - a compliant to practice manager or practice principal is in order.

Edit: I note resolved.
