Well, not sure of what I have done with the new stuff, put everything back as it was including old power supply and it booted first time, sigh!

We are off tomorrow to Hervey Bay for a week, so it can wait until we get home, I will buy another case, and to think I used to work in IT with computers.

Reminds me of the time years ago at HKG where @blackcat20 and I were standing at the J/PB sign and this retiree aged couple came up, looked us up and down, decided we were in the wrong place as we were clearly too young to be flying J or have status (flying J and were both OWE at the time) and stepped directly in front of us.

It was delicious when CX called for OWE before J and we walked straight past them

I actually got satisfaction from the complete opposite. In the premium line at SYD on WF to ADL. This quite young fellow is pushing his way up the line saying I am gold. Now QF had announced the possibility of LTP at the time so I told him I was lifetime platinum and he was very apologetic. I failed to add my LTP was with AA.

Well, the flurry of emails saying to allocated time doesnt work when they didnt bother to tell me when they were not available! I've got down to one meeting which is proving hard to schedule, so emailed all involved asking for availability for a smaller set of dates by the end of the day. One replied

Oh I use that, but it wasnt practical to set up 48 polls. Everyone had two weeks to send me any dates they couldnt do. But so many just dont reply, then carry on when something doesnt suit them.

I'm covering someone elses job (on top of my own) and this is one of the tasks. Thankfully not for much longer.

. My rheumatologist of 8 years is quitting private practice. I feel concerned for my niece who also sees her and who has significant issues with lupus and of course, she's so young. I think I can manage without her as I'm pretty much know what to do with current issues and the GP is able to prescribe the hydroxychloroquine for me. The effort of finding another good one is just a bit too much. Rare as hens teeth and likely not accepting new patients.

But what really made me boil, was the admin staff phone call. I'd not got antsy, just a bit frayed on hearing this news, until at the end of the call she started to say "hope you have a ni......" at which point I stopped her and told her that given the nature of the phone call that this 'greeting' was inappropriate.

We had similar somewhere. All J had been called but they weren't letting us on the plane due to some delay inside. Just standing at the door of the plane. Up came this guy pushing past everyone saying 'I'm business, I'm business'. He didn't get past me. We were all business.

A few years ago BA started using 'group 0' for the uber status (). I was queued in the front of the Gp 0, 1 & 2 queue in my usual jeans and t-shirt. The person behind me decided he was more important and pushed ahead of me saying he was group 1. I just let him go. The FA (who had previously seen I was the only group 0 pax) singled me out by name and said I was welcome to board. Priceless look as I then pushed past him.

WCMO is BA tends to talk about priority boarding and then boards most groups in one go. Sounds familiar.

So just discovered this today, we have a holiday house on Airbnb in Victoria. Now the Vic govt introduced 7.5% levy on short stay properties. The levy applies to any payments the guest make to you, including the payment to cover the levy if the invoice is itemised (like it is in on the booking platform of Airbnb and Stayz).

So, say you charge the guest $1000 for the property, Airbnb charges them a $150 service fee and there is a $100 cleaning fee. The levy charged to the guest is (1250 x 7.5%) = $93.75, but they then have to pay another 7.5% levy on that, so another $7.03. So a 7.5% levy is actually a 8.06% levy (and Airbnb, but not Stayz adds 10% to this as well, presumably for GST, even though we are way below the GST threshold).

I think financial microaggressions sums it up. We have three excellent repeat guests each year that book directly with us, and the probably another dozen or so via Airbnb mainly who've been by and large pretty good, and we have great cleaners. So still worthwhile.

I guess for every $100 a guest spends on booking a property we still get to keep $60 of a typical 2 night stay, or $75 if we do the cleaning/linen/setup ourselves (such is the cost of cleaning). Of the remaining $25 - Airbnb itself gets $15, State Government about $8 and $2 GST to the federal government which is imposed on the Airbnb fees and State Levy).

My gripe. Installed solar panels as encouraged by local ACT govt. They proudly boast of being nearly 100% sufficiency of electricity production using only green stuff.
Unfortunately one panel is directly under a branch of one of our gum trees.
The panel gets a lot of sun, but the branch above is also a favourite spot for the local coughies to hang out and squawk at each other.
Hence, lots of bird poo reducing efficiency of that panel.
We requested removal of that one branch, not removal of the tree, one branch.
Nyet, non, nein, no can do, that tree was there long before your solar panel, so bad luck.

I would love to move, disliking Canberra more and more, but the boss has many friends here and I'm loathe to take her away from them. I have done this once already, when she came here from Vancouver, sigh,......

We have similar. But where we live, it doesn't rain much but when it does it's hard. We had very heavy rain on Saturday night. Clean now. coughies. Eucalyptus.

We've been in new apartment 2 weeks and last night noticed someone staying under the stairwell at the back of the apartment block next door only a few metres from our living room/bedroom.

Very loud last night. Constantly on speaker phone. At one point arguing and shouting. I called police but I don't think anyone came around. His bag is still under the stairwell now but I think he's outside the shopping centre annoying people already this morning.

I'm not sure police are the right people to assist but I'm not comfortable with someone sleeping outside disturbing my wife and daughter.

I've been to police. I've notified agent. Strata managers are top secret in Queensland. I really do not understand why it needs to be that difficult to get in touch with strata.

Guy has had lots of phone calls this morning. Screaming and shouting. Apparently he's trying to get into rehab but there's a 3-4 week wait.

Im not sure he's related to the old lady that lives in that apartment but there's been a conversation as she's out doing things.
