Got this email this morning and as I am merely copying it, I won't be breaching the Confidentiality Deed on the questions and my responses.

At Virgin Australia we are always looking for ways to improve our products and service and your feedback is the best way for us to do so.

Unlike a previous Virgin Australia survey (sent within the last 12 months) asking about your most recent flight experience, this one will be based on a hypothetical journey with various hypothetical products presented for selection.

We know you're busy, but would really appreciate it if you could take 10-12 minutes to complete our survey.

The survey is open until 24th June 2015.

How do you get started? Simply click on the 'Take survey now' box.

Thank you in advance,

Virgin Australia

Needless to say, I gave them my honest opinion - hope my opinion is worth a lot to them and they take the constructive comments in the free text area on board (pun intended).

Anybody else get it ??

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yeah. can't be bothered. Used to write letters for good and bad service, they stopped replying, so no more. My feedback is the amount of money we send their way.

It is a very interesting set of circumstances shown serfty, I think you'd like to respond. Having to suspend certain automatic judgements was hard for me...

I did it. only took a couple of minutes for me, but it was a surprisingly complete confidentiality page for a reasonably straightforward survey where they weren't offering anything in exchange.

Surveys can be an indication of looming detrimental change as well. "we asked for your opinion and have listened to you. We agree that most don't like family pooling and fly ahead so we're scrapping it......etc etc" a la Campbell Newmans loaded survey where everyone apparently wanted to do this and that, which was used (along with an expensive advertising campaign to convince us) to bring in stuff he wanted to do and claim "the people" told us it's what they wanted..........and then shortly later "the people" booted him out of Government. Smoke and mirrors don't always hold the same awe as they used to, it seems.

There were some looming potential horrors in there for VA WP and SG members...!

Agree not sure I liked any of those options!

If anything even close like that gets implemented I suspect a lot of AFF VFF folk will be very very upset! I'd probably cut my losses (finally). Easy, perhaps too easy (?) access to that benefit for VFF members is a big plus...

Why not give out the questions to all on the forum. It's not that likely VA would do anything or even know who you are.

Why demand secrecy? Isn't it just a survey? Was the "swear to be eternally mute" declaration before the questions...or after?

Any business can change terms, but any customer can change loyalty. Question is, to whom? Perhaps AFF could market in the shop, little JB dolls and packets of pins. He started well, but is faltering a long way before the finish line. I wonder if we're witnessing a slow demise of JB and his game change plan?

Not surprisingly, I was not emailed the survey (nor anything else), so if anyone would like to whisper the content of some of the questions/scenarios to me via PM, I'd be appreciative. Need to ascertain whether or not I reinvigorate my other options for status.

I took one each a flight with VA and QF.
Some always do fill in surveys, but this one is from an external group working on behalf of VA and QF.
I just deleted them both.
An opinion of just 1 person does not make a lot of difference in the large scheme of the airlines.
I complained about Simpler and Fairer, but nothing was done (QF side).

The secrecy thing was before the questions. three or four paragraphs about not revealing any of the questions or any of my answers to anybody, specifically including family (???). I didn't think to copy them, and would have forgotten it completely if i hadn't noticed this thread.
If anyone else gets it this week, just PM another member, and get them to post it then delete your message and "forget" who sent it to them.

I'll give them my opinion now.

Dear Virgin,

Your domestic business class on the 738's is cough. cough food, cough beverage selection, cough seat, cough entertainment, cough service.

Sincerely, Maninblack.

Well, from what I've gleaned (I didn't do the survey as I wasn't invited...again....so I haven't signed any secrecy pact and I have no idea who told me, as my memory is exceptionally poor) is that VA are canvassing the idea of making row 3 a paid upgrade like exit rows.

I can say, row 3 is the only reason I retain Plat. Even though I fly 120+ sectors a year, the majority are charter flights so no status unfortunately, so to retain plat I've been buying both J and flexi.......cash. Take away row 3 and it might actually be better for me. I'll just settle with gold on VA, then I'll be able to get and keep gold on QF and buy row 3 when it suits and still come out about even cost wise. Flexi especially is an absolute rip off, so going back to buying -Y may be a real benefit to me and open up the QF competition. I wonder if the clowns in VA marketing have actually ever flown on an aircraft or have actually run different scenarios. I have a FFer friend I was just talking to on Friday night and he is (perhaps, was) going to switch domestic travel entirely to VA to gain row 3. He's currently VA gold and has had row 3, which he likes a lot and to get it more consistently, he's prepared to throw his loyalty VA way........that was entirely based on row 3.

Very little differentiates gold from plat on VA and row 3 is a biggie. If VA ditch that for plat, well they've lost the plot.

Row 3 is practically the only benefit I actually get to use as a WP doing weekly commute Syd-mel in -Y. Continue to be annoyed at Mr and Ms No Status insisting on sitting in 3B and 3E instead of it being my shadow :)

And recent fare hikes make price differences with QF small. Maybe time to get off QF bronze!! Horrid thought getting all the way to SG on QF ...

You and I sound very similar! Destinations vary, but the reality is the same. I can buy QP access through a corporate rate which is dirt cheap (even for a tight cough like me).
