The view or two from my "office"

@Denali are you going up to Glenfinnan? Just researching it now for a stay in August - looks like a lot to do (incl viewing the famous viaduct).

I'll also be passing through Glencoe - any tips or insights?
I was looking up the Glenfinnan rail museum yesterday but I don't know if we'll get there tomorrow

Today we went to St Fillians to see Mirror Man and an unplanned side trip to Falls of Dochart in Killin and found a wonderful smokehouse with very pretty bridge and waterfall on the only road in/out next to it

For Glencoe, Stalker castle and The Wee White House for pics. We also stopped at Falls of Falloch on the way and people were swimming there, if you're brave enough for the water

Between Glasgow and Glencoe is the Museum of Lead Mining but Mr Denali wouldn't let me stop.... I need a better travel partner because he also said no the water powered beam pump. He should know by now I like weird things 😂

My mother was intensely interested in seeing castles in the UK when she and dad went there. Nope! Dad was a 'get from A to B in the shortest time' guy. Drove mum spare.

I'm going to be all over the Museum of Lead mining - should have a great collection of picks and shovels.

I thought of you when I saw the Lead Mining museum, you would have gone with me 🤣

My favorite museum was the original Derwent pencil factory in Keswick. Walk out the back and there is the drawing on the back of the 72 box standing on the bridge with river and mountains behind. Not the current museum which does not compare.

Spot the different electricity poles - one pole and two poles. One of the poles where there are two is being replaced because the woodpeckers have almost destroyed it  🤷‍♀️

They just need stobie poles like in Adelaide and the woodpeckers wouldn't have a hope
