I'm very similar to you. A DJ flyer before the changes (but probably about 2008, not 2006), but I see something different. All these changes are nice (predominantly) but it has come at a cost. As I buy my airfares, I certainly see the difference. My flying costs have increased with DJ by about 35% in the last 18 months. There may be a reason why your boss is sticking with/changing to QF. The biggest issue I see, is with TT on a leash, JQ has little LCC competition. DJ vowed to keep LCC and so they have, they just charge more for it, which has allowed JQ to simply follow suit, just marginally behind. Now with Air OZ gone, we really need to see TT come back and that will change the whole ball park. I've already decided to return to BFOD when the competition returns. I'll let DJ fight it out with QF (or become a QF clone.....whatever their plan is) and I'll be mostly a TT/JQ flyer. From where I sit, DJ have made some nice changes......some I've even benefited from.....but they are targetting the bigger budgets, not me and those like me. It's a shame, I was happy enough with them before the changes, now....not so much.
