Virgin Australia expands 'on arrival' lounge access - 60 minute time limit

Its a bit like some PP lounges with a 4 hour limit. How do they enforce it?

Maybe next up, Amex Plat charge card holders will also get arrival access? :)

In theory isn't departure lounge access (at least for single use passes / business class) limited to 2 hours before the flight anyway? It's not like that's really enforced either.

Velocity Platinum members can access the Virgin Australia Lounge on arrival with an eligible day of travel Virgin Australia or partner airline itinerary or boarding pass. Subject to space availability, Velocity Gold members and Lounge Members may also access the Virgin Australia Lounge on arrival with an eligible day of travel Virgin Australia or partner airline itinerary or boarding pass. The use of the Lounge is available to these members for up to 60 minutes after their flight arrival.

So Plats can still access it - with permitted number of guests (2?) at any time, of a same day Virgin flight?

On arrival into Perth lounge (SG) just over a week ago, we were advised of the 60 minute condition.

Yes, with up to three guests.

(This is domestic.)

Thanks @serfty. Was not sure if it was 2 or 3. Gold is one or 2?

I always preface my entry into lounge after flight arrival with "I just need to pop in and send a quick email before catching my cab." And no-one seem to blink.

We got to SYD last week at 6pm and had 4 checked bags rather than wait at carousel, then a long cab line, and heavy traffic delays we just did email for an hour or so, then hit a much shorter cab line.

"Subject to space availability, Lounge Members...." I can use my silver annual lounge membership on arrival! I was determined to try it out at OOL arriving from SIN on Scoot with a "that day" VA ticket out of BNE. Unfortunately Scoot was delayed by a fair bit and I had to scoot off to catch the regions slowest airport train. BTW a silver annual lounge membership is $300 with joining fee waived and can use points and pay. It's good value for me because I often travel with my 3 boys and can guest the 15yr old plus bring the 8 & 10 yr old children in...

What you are trying to do here is very questionable IMHO as TR may not be defined as an 'eligible partner airline' (can you get a VA codeshare on TR?) from an arrival point of view and you are not departing on VA directly from OOL so I doubt you would qualify from a departure point of view either...

Yes, I looked at the wording for the arrivals lounge and found it ambiguous?

I'm not trying to play the system but I thought I would be perfectly eligible to use the lounge on arrival to freshen up before my trip up to BNE airport?

I think we all love gangs of charming young teenage and younger boys getting into Airlines lounges. My favourite topic generally. :D

It's just the Virgin domestic lounges at the moment but I'm working my way up... we have a plan to takeover airport lounges worldwide just on supermarket points...

Thanks for the OP on this topic. I used this little treat for the first time when I flew into DRW a few weeks back. Grabbed a beer and lunch and off I went. Thanks VA. :D

Thanks to all for the info. Am I able to use the Virgin lounge on arrival on a same day domestic Virgin flight (Gold member), I'm assuming yes. Am I able to also bring in one guest? Can my guest accompany me even if they don't have their own Virgin same day boarding pass?
