WOW Virgin, What an abortion of a website. What was a simple one click to online checkin is now a 20 minute crock of cough. Hint, when I check in from velocityrewards, I am already signed in. When I click WEB CHECKIN from the VIEW BOOKING page, I dont think I need to put in the booking number and departure city again..... Geeez next time I am going to clog up the premium checkin at the airport, this is a BIG FAIL

No it isn't - you try and go through it, it takes you to velocity rewards, where you then need to enter your departure city and reservation number or velocity number, even if logged into velocity site... Maybe one click to get to the checkin link, but four beers lots of swearing, and in the end, a bloody airport checkin anyway because it NOW WONT LET ME CHECK IN!!!!:evil:

Did you look at the picture I posted? All the exact same tabs are there on the main page. It functions exactly the same as before and tells me I don't have an eligible booking. Will try it again on Monday. Not sure what you're doing wrong but nothing suggests this won't work as usual.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

Yes I did look at your picture, and when you DO have an eligible booking, it sends you to the old checkin section, I HAVE an eligible PE seat, tried to check in, and, although visually the same as the old page, it has changed to a multitude of clicks and enter numbers etc etc. It sucks. Send the old site back until you get it together VA, I now have to be at the airport at least 45 mins or more before my sparrow fart flight to check in, when I could have just gone top the gate 15 mins before departure... Sucks, really sucks

Working fine for me.

I believe if you select the "View Full Site" option in the mobile version of the site, it tries to resolve the address and just keeps refreshing.

Saying that, if you use another browser (say Skyfire) and select the "Desktop" mode option, it renders the site perfectly.

Which makes me think that the "View Full Site" link is broken in the mobile version of the site.

... just telling it like it is. Confusing, strange, weird, whatever, an easy system has been replaced with something far more complex and inefficient. Sorry if you got the wrong impression, no offence intended, just sharing some info, in case anyone else encounters the same thing

Gentlemen, what may be considered a simple process to one can be complex to another. Some take to change better than others, particularly when confronted by a change in a regular process they had down pat. Give each other the benefit of the doubt and move on.

I think the website looks good, but needs a few bugs sorted. Hopefully once the bugs are sorted out the functionality matches the slick design.

+1 to the offer of AFF doing some beta testing in the future. For appropriate SC+point earn perhaps????

Have had a fiddle with the website. Disfunctional. The interaction with the Velocity website is still a shamozzle. Will be trying seat allocation tomorrow, which has never worked yet for me in PE, we will see but I don't hold much hope. Disaster writ large. Why Virgin? Ever thought of employing a new website developer :?:

That being said has anyone tried the new SQ site? Oh dear

... I think it's much cleaner, easier to read and excellent drop down menus. ...
It's certainly easier to read - in a grotesque sort of way.

It seems developers these days are making an effort to pander to the pda crowd; unfortunately they are throwing the baby out with the bathwater. (This is also true of the horrible new JQ and AirNZ sites as I have already mentioned)

As for the drop down menus, they make it so much harder to access the basic functions near the top due to the instant 'mouseover' activation.

An example of how this can be done is better is here:

But at least the NZ website works (important :D) and is uncluttered. As I mentioned have a go at the new SQ website and try using the booking function, a few glitches in there too.

Qantas website looks pretty good to me now :!:

I had a look at this on my iPhone yesterday without issue and have now looked on my laptop.

So far OK except how do you get back to the home page :?:

You don't  - seems a start again process - that doesn't make a lot of sense.

Big meeting of the VA Project Team this morning who have moved into the building next to my office. Maybe they are the IT Dev Team going through our comments

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I haven't bothered to even view on the iPhone yet, can't see any good reason to need that kind of access yet

The black text on the white background is really hard to read in Google Chrome, something to do with the font smoothing feature. Don't have the same problem if I switch to Internet Explorer.

Looked up some PE fares to LAX, then thought Id go back to the homescreen to redo the search for Economy. Class drop down box is greyed out (and says "all fare types"), preventing me from searching for the class of travel of choice...

Everytime I try and search for flights between SYD & HKG I get either an error page or a page that says V Australia don't fly to HKG...

1. V Australia doesn't exist anymore. It's now Virgin Australia.
2. Virgin Australia don't fly to HKG. Virgin Atlantic do, but that is a different airline/company so you need to go to virginatlantic.com for that route.
