Vinomofo Wine Deals

Where did you think all of the returns went?

Why would you lock yourself in when there are a plethora of great deals out there. You could always buy a salvation case if you wanted to

Salvation cases?

But I don't buy those or any mystery mixes from anywhere.

Personally I don't sign up for anything that has people ship me wine I haven't explicitly selected myself

I mean - I will take the occasional chance on a mystery box as suits - but not on a subscription basis

I guess that’s a “NO” then…
Thx all.

Stonewall just got even cheaper!
My 2016 Stonewell arrived today. I will put my forum rep on the line and say I really like it. Nice perfume. Pleasant taste that makes it quite moreish. I think it will open up more ovenight. I would agree with James Halliday rankings around 95 points. A little one dimensational, perhaps, but at $36.6 a bottle I am grabbing some more.

Has anyone tried the Mitolo Reiver Shiraz 2022 yet? I adore their G.A.M. (I've had 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2021 and loved them all) and the Cantiniere 2018 was also excellent.
A bit different to the McLaren Shiraz options, a bit lighter in body, cedary oak, nice plummy fruit, moderate tannin, with a bit of that Barossa dried herbs character.
Ok for the price with a code, I didn't send it back.

Opened my first one this evening, I'm liking it so far. Agree on the perfume bit - it smells great. Will have a few glasses over time before I lock in my thoughts about the taste, but initial signs are positive. It's quite warming for 14.5%, but that might just be on my empty stomach right now 🙃

It stayed consistent for me into night 2 (no better, no worse), which suggests it's in its drinking window right now. I would rate it as a $60-$70 value wine if consumed blind. So $120 RRP overs, but a good deal, IMO.

Received mine last night and I'm going to go against the grain over here, did not think much of it at all, very one dimensional and lacking body. Smelled better than it tasted, but not by much. Maybe this is just the bottle I picked out but it being Stelvin closure, it's less likely?

Opened a 2019 Two Hands Bella's Garden at the same time and it was a night and day difference, even though the Stonewell has a much higher RRP.

I think the rest would be similar, and if that's your take on it I would return the rest.

I am a huge fan of Two Hands Bella's Garden, so I appreciate your comparison. Bella's Garden is more fruit driven / less oak.

I'd agree with this somewhat. Night two and the wine is similar; it still smells great and the initial flavour is good - dark fruits and licorice. But it doesn't quite develop in the mouth like I'd hope for at this price point in terms of body and complexity. And I've been struggling to put a finger on this, but I think it's perhaps bit tart?

Nice enough for me to keep the rest and enjoy it for what it is, but there are other wines between $25-$40 that I prefer.

I have tried mine and I quite enjoyed it but I like my wine aged. If you like your red wine with fruit power then a 10 year old wine made to age probably won't be your go to. I'll try another in the next month or so and cellar the rest and maybe try one annually or so. I feel like this might have gone to sleep a bit and be in an in-between state of the ageing process although if people aren't experiencing much difference on day 2 perhaps that isn't the case. 10 years might be past that time anyway. I'm not generally restrained enough for a day 2.

Any thoughts on this offer?

Wouldn't be my thing, but others like this type of wine club model. Probably more appealing if your current stock is low & you're looking to boost it, & if you prefer a mixed rather than straight dozen. Hmm on further reflection, why not just buy a mixed pack when you want to?

Second this, I thought it was ok! And ok at the delivered price of $35, opened a Woods Crampton frances & nicole as a comparison. The WC is a better wine and an incredible bargain at $20 a bottle from Grays
