i missed out on this... did anyone get some?
People must have been very very lucky. All gone to staff members in under 20 seconds??
Something wrong with the website as I refreshed on the dot but No new wines showed up, so tried refreshing on the phone and it did show up. Whilst it allows you to press the Add button it popped up with, "Apologies, but the "Manzone Giovanni Gramolere Riserva Barolo 1995 (1pk)" has sold out!"
I accidentally got 2 Bin 169’s but didn’t want to remove from the cart and miss outI managed to get one of the Bin 169's which was nice I spose.
Yes, you're right. Although even knowing it, I still often fall into the trap! However to partly get around this, my approach is to always be able to identify the real people behind any wine I'm looking to buy. Secondly, I'm put off if cannot find the details of the winemaking process, either from the maker or sometimes via a critic (with some exceptions eg the myriad brands now under CW, details often not forthcoming, but I know who the growers & makers are). But regarding your point, plenty of makers don't rely on heavily discounted, high RRP's, although it's a tricky decision for them because buyers tend to mentally downgrade such wines.Agree and it can be a real mental trap, especially with sites like this one that encourage you to go further down the 'bargain addiction' rabbit hole. I am constantly reminding myself that there are a number of wineries that put out $20-$30 RRP wines (I'm looking at you Hoddles Creek & S.C Pannell) that aren't regularly discounted which I enjoy much more than $60-$100RRP wines that can be picked up at half price. I've been taking a break from chasing the bargains lately and often enjoying some of the wines I've been purchasing at full whack even more.

I was tempted by Toft - & could be totally wrong here - but from what I could glean I suspected the difference was heavy bottle, cork etc rather than a different wine - I'm probably becoming too sceptical. I seem to recall RedBigot tried Toft & was unimpressed, which may be meaningful if you have identical palates.I agree with most of your thoughts here. Had the Reverend Cannon a few times and opened up quite nicely.
Wondering if anyone has had Vicar of Toft?

I sent it back, not awful, but it's not a baby "Thing" like the packaging might suggest and didn't match the hype or selling price.I agree with most of your thoughts here. Had the Reverend Cannon a few times and opened up quite nicely.
