Vinomofo Wine Deals

I opened mine tonight - I have the 2020, and it tastes just like the second review above. Not often that I don't share the same opinion as the apiarist....
Loved this wine too. I bought it because of the tannin description however the wine was an impressive total package.

Thank you for the comment - I'll let you know how I get on with the wine
Well opened the first of the Kirrihill The Squire 2018 Shiraz and was very, very impressed (as was everyone else) - the bottle(s) didn't last long. Deep red in colour, strong aroma and taste of berries, followed by coffee and hints of spice. The berries reminded me of some older cabs rather than shiraz.
Went online to see if I could find any more - everywhere sold out. What I also noticed is that everywhere was showing a sepia label and screw-cap whereas my bottles are diam and a grey "K" and red Squire seem to be printed directly onto the black bottle - very striking / modern looking. Maybe VM got hold of a failed export batch?

Yep, not a lot of info online, and a rather dated website (reminds me of Horndale Winery a bit).

Also apparently considered "one of the greatest winemakers in Australia, and his wine compared to Max Schubert".🤔

Also, all 3 of his reviews are Sam Kim.....

Having said that, I'll probably give it a go given VM's return policy.

Walter Clappis used to own Ingoldby, now seems to have Hedonist Wines, the sales page of Amicus shows a Hedonist email address, so I would guess end of the line for the Amicus label.

VM had the Amicus Cabernet Shiraz 2018 @ $12.50 back in February.

Maybe the political connection fell apart?
Amicus is a venture bred in the purple. Its owners are 30-year industry veteran (and former Ingoldby owner) Walter William Wilfred Clappis (he has always provided his name in full), wife Kerry, plus Amanda and Tony Vanstone and Robert and Diana Hill, known in an altogether different environment. The grapes come in part from the Clappis McLaren Vale vineyard (run on biodynamic principles) and from grapes purchased from growers in Langhorne Creek. Exports to the UK, the US and China. -JAMES HALLIDAY

The association of Amanda Vanstone and Sam Kim plus"exports to the UK, USA and China" has me cowering in a corner...
"Walter Clappis has been making wine for 28 years and is considered one of the most outstanding Winemakers in Australia, being the only Winemaker to have ever won the Dan Murphy Trophy three times." has me cowering in a corner. Source

Just got an email from the 'fo with a $20 voucher.

It says for affected customers in QLD and SA but doubt it's geolocked. If another state can confirm let us know.

Oh btw, if it's a targeted voucher, first in best dressed 😂
I’m waiting for the email from “Vinomofo” asking me to re-enter my credit card details…

Had a credit in my account for an out of stock dozen from 28th October 2021.
I hadn't had the urge to buy anything since then.
Logged back in the other day and the credit had disappeared! Auto removed after 12 months?
Called VM who were very helpful and restored the credit.

You got to give them a credit for that (no pun intended)! I have some credit also and am aware of the 12 months rule.

We're they taking the piss?

Or was there serious slackness involved?
