Vinomofo Wine Deals

the 2012 hunter chardonnay is Eagles Rest Wines Maluna Hunter Valley Chardonnay. 2012 is a good year for chardonnary in the hunter.

Black Market Chardonnay 2012 - White Wine | Vinomofo Australia

Just for anyone interested. 2012 was a really wet vintage in the Hunter, might be the worst HV vintage in the last 10 years. Disastrous for shiraz. Seems as though there have been some ok whites (semillon) that I have tried though.

it was pretty bad for reds, whites are good enough for lots of winery produced their semillon and chardonnary(or others).

Does anyone know what the current black market Sparkling White NV is? I've seen a few posts in the past about black market sparkling being the Chain of Ponds Diva, but it doesn't seem to match up from the chardonnay / pinot noir split and cellar door pricing

Black Market Pinot Noir 2018 - Red Wine | Vinomofo Australia

New Yarra Valley Pinot deal potentially the 2018 d'Soumah? Tasting notes are for the 2017 on the Soumah site but they have the 2018 for purchase and the $28 fits. From memory the Estate Soumah wines have appeared previously.

2018 Pinot Noir d'Soumah - Soumah Wines

I had them in the running as well - unless VM is using its poetic license again, Soumah is only 5 black stars as opposed to 5 red stars by Halliday.

I thought MAYBE TarraWarra which matches on price and the higher than normal alcohol but they only have 2016 on the site.

More likely though it could also be someone who makes Pinot in the Yarra but isn't based there which throw the whole thing for a loop

Very good point and difficult to say given there is so little to go off. I considered Medhurst Wines also as they have a $28 Pinot, but again they are 5 black stars. I hit the button anyway so will let you know when it arrives.

Hardy's Tintara Cabernet 2016 is a fairly good match: price ($30 RRP, $27 on Hardy's site), a/v, 5 red star "icon" winery, but has small amounts of other varieties (6% merlot, 5% cabernet franc and 3% shiraz.)

The 95pt review on the WC site is listed as JH, but in the book it is from Jane Faulkner, matching the (non-JH) attribution by VM.
And the "$4 cheaper than best online price" aligns to what it is being sold for on cellarone. They did however have the Tintara Tinta Mole Touriga Grenache for $11 a while ago, and that was a good deal....
