Vinomofo Wine Deals

Yep, boomed.

I haven't yet, I was going to use the amex statement credit and then realised I cancelled the cards it was on last Friday... Now deciding if I will boom now or wait until free freight

Have yet to drink a single wine from Bordeaux which I feel is a failing worth addressing. Just wondering if after all the import duties etc. you get much wine left for $20?

Not being familiar with the producer, I wouldn't touch it. I think there is a lot of really average Bordeaux out there, especially on the cheaper end of the spectrum. If you've had similar and like it then certainly go for it. At that price point, I'd be buying Australian, but that's just my tastes.

I bought Chat La Gravette a little while back at a similar price point and with similar ratings.
I won't be going there again either. Can do much better with Aussie wines at that price point. Think I recall a comment in one of these threads that "you can't get good French wine cheap in Australia" and I think you'd be hard pressed to prove that wrong.
I also think the overseas ratings seem to be more generous than their Aussie counterparts.

I actually think it is the other way around. Australian ratings, ie Halliday, are was more generous.

I don't really think its an issue of not getting good French wine cheap in Australia. I think sometimes rubbish is brought it and people who don't know any better go wow, it must be good because it's French.

Good and Cheap don't fit with being carted 15,000 KM. Imagine some outfit like winery Lane organising that delivery. I suppose your Bordeaux would at least turn up already aged.

They are having a FB sale now with free freight- I don't suppose the Maverick is still available....

Let us know your thoughts once you received it. i loved the earlier GSMs and the 15 shiraz and will most probably boom this once free shipping comes around again. if its still available at the time...

I'm with Delectableblue that the 2015 Cab Sav from Maverick is one of the standout wines I've had from them which is unusual because I'm normally a shiraz drinker, but haven't tasted a bad one (don't really subscribe to all the issues with "pepperiness" in some of the GSM's) but it all comes down to personal taste as always....

I was planning on letting it sit for a few months before trying any, I haven't tried the '15 Cabernet I grabbed a few months ago yet.

I also noticed my delivery is not going to be until early March as it was backordered

More than likely. The Mike Bennie on TWF 90pt review for the McLaren Vale version matches, the have the Mule Rose fully identified for sale at $11.50

The 3 Mule wines are conveniently sold out on the Mule web site, these seem to fit the "made for Vinomofo" category now.

I bought both 2015 Cab Sav and GSM from Maverick. For under 10 dollars/B, they are really great value. They are my everyday drink wines, really like them. Not sure about 2016 though.

You really should do yourself a favour and rip the scab off the 15' Cab Sav, smooth, deep and already in perfect balance....(and then remind yourself what you paid for it:D)
