Ditto! But better late than never - I'm much more careful with the >$20 VM offers - those RRP +/-$50 wines can really strike some gold. More careless with VM's <$10 offerings and have found some really nice gems: Jack Estate Shiraz; Mt Avoca Back Block Shiraz (mouthful of delicious after 24 hours!); the Maverick Twins and the Capel Vales etc.

In any case, for a very novice wine drinker and new collector like me, this thread is indispensable with your varied postings!

I've got some 2010 Brand's Laira cab that I'm itching to try, to see if I should buy more.
 
Also noticed a Norfolk Rise Shiraz today and after reading Delectable's comments, I can mention that I purchases a few cases of the 2008 Norfolk shirazes from Grays some 2 years ago. Very very nice wine folks, and don't let the normal $18 retail make you think it's too cheap. Early twenties would not be unfair. The cooler climate styles NATURALLY have more acidity and need more airing/decanting but I think their fruit is a little more pristine and elegant, provided the winemaker knows how to do it properly. Having just typed this during an interlude between discussing sildenafil and citalopram, where you don't give a Freddy if you dont get a Freddy, my oranges have just been delivered. Maybe I think outside the circle sometimes, but this cab sav will be sampled this weekend, and being from cooler new south Wales, and having an embarrassment of regalia, I will be very keen. Keener than a senile sildenafil subdued septogenerian named Hugh......no there' no bunny.

Yes Thanks for working this one out, think I will give this one a miss as well, not really sold on it.
 
Tried the Maverick Cabernet blend last night. I thought it went well with pizza from the local Italian place. It's a bit fruiter than a normal straight cabernet, and easy drinking right now (and I guess the next few years). Well worth the $9/bottle it cost, if looking for something to drink now.
