Vinomofo Wine Deals

Overseas expansion will be an interesting one for the VM crew given the different way different jurisdictions handle liquor licencing.

Also, Will they be primarily looking to import Aussie wine and sell it, or are they looking to set up the same kind of infrastructure with local wine? Or some of both?

A number of these questions have been posed, and no firm answers have been forthcoming from VM so far.

To be fair, if I was VM I don't think I would feel under any obligation or need to respond to questions raised on AFF!

When (if) they feel ready to announce their plans I'm sure they will.

LOL, I wasn't referring to AFF, so much as the speculation in the business / startup press about the moves. In interviews Justin and Andre haven't given much away beyond the "this is on the cards".

If I was VM, I wouldn't tell the world until necessary (e.g. Launch) - Throw some ideas around, leak tid bits of information and see public/peer/industry reactions, and keep re-iterating your ideas within the "inner circle" / company. This is how many successful businesses work. The first idea often is a flop, but by iteration #10, stealing parts of idea #5, the new idea #11 might be good.

There is definitely some "testing the waters" needed with the VM business model in different markets. The locally produced wine, local wine market, and local consumer in any of the suggested markets are all quite different to the Australian market, and I suspect VM are well aware of this.

I linked to an article about this on here about 2 weeks ago. They weren't saying which countries in the article, but hinted strongly at China.

China will be a tough nut to crack. Every man and his dog is trying to export wine to China these days. There are a lot of Chinese business migrants here that run barely profitable wine export businesses (probably mostly for the purposes of meeting immigration requirements). A Chinese acquaintance gave me a bottle of what she called "premium" wine the other day as a gift and it was a label that I had never heard of. It is a 2008 Mclaren Vale Shiraz that was obviously labeled for the Chinese market which could be anything inside. I'd imagine there would be a lot of this kind of stuff being pushed over there at the moment.

Ah grasshopper, you have much wisdom in someone with not so many postings. Maybe the year of the monkey could be as good for VM as the last year from them was to us. They need to buy some fortune cookies perhaps?

I have been in NZ for the last month+ and here the VM site asks you to register for an exclusive launch. So NZ is on the expansion list too.

96 point Pinot Noir

Is it the Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard?

Believe so - some people ordered it, but I don't believe I've seen anyone confirm that's what was actually delivered

Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard

It must be the Seppelt Drumborg pinot, they had some late last year which I ordered some of.
It's good stuff. BTW Nick's has some Rockburn C.Otago pinot (2010) for $34 a bottle, which I would rate as much better.

Has anyone received a case of the following black market:
https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/black-market-cabernet-sauvignon-2014-190116
BLACK MARKET DEAL Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Coonawarra $35 $10.50

Not much to work on.

Oops - scratch that... No, unscratch that. It was asked by someone else and answered a couple of hours after your first inquiry :) However, the date is no longer in the URL, so here you go:

It's this one

Thanks for a great summary! Are any of these currently on offer from VinoMofo??

You are very welcome, metob. I don't believe they are.

I recently asked my Fo broker about the Hemera Tier 1 08 and that had all sold out. I have been scouting around for more without any luck. If anybody has spotted it for sale, then please let me know. The 2010 Shiraz Cab blend is the latest Tier 1 release, but it got a slightly lower (but still respectable) 95 points: 2010 Tier 1 Shiraz Cabernet - Hemera Estate

If you are after the Paxton Jones Block 12, then order here: 2012 Paxton Jones Block Shiraz, McLaren Vale - myCellars.com.au The myCellars service is excellent and it's the best price around. There's only 27 left at this point though, so get in quick.

The Innocent Bystander Syrah 14 might be available through the broker, but at $19.90 a bottle it was sharply priced and was probably all snaffled up. You could support the winery and pay RRP at $25 a bottle: 2014 Innocent Bystander Yarra Valley Syrah It's totally worth $25 a bottle.

The Amelia Park Reserve Cab Sauv 12 was definitely sold out. So if you wanted to sample this elegant and well made wine, then I would suggest joining their wine club for a 20% discount and pick up a 6 Pack for $240: Amelia Park – Our Wines – Reserve Collection – Cabernet Sauvignon : Amelia Park Wines

The Wynns V&A 12 was a great Fo bargain, so it's no surprise there are none left. MyWineGuy are selling a 6 Pack at $44.95 a bottle, but that's nowhere near as cheap as the Fo had it: My Wine Guy - Wynns V & A Lane Shiraz 2012 I think I saw the 2010 on another site for $33 a bottle, but that's a different vintage.

I believe the Hardy's Thomas Hardy 12 has also sold out. Another cracking deal at $65 a bottle from the Fo. Dan's are selling it for $95-97 a bottle if you really must!: https://m.danmurphys.com.au/mob/pro...3AD2C0F1C10DCD8C.ncdlmorasp1306?bmUID=l6WBOFz

I hope that helps.

Wozza signing off from a very hot and humid Bali ...

You can also get it from Dans for $21.85 in any six (minus 5% WISH discount and any cashback you have access to). For me that would be $18.xx right now.

Hello
anyone know what the secret deal 2008 Margaret River Cab Sauv mof_ advertised yesterday at $40 per bottle (normal price $90). Tried to search but looks like this is a new one
