Vinomofo Wine Deals

For those looking to buy the Paxton Jones Block Shiraz 2012 at $34 from VinoMofo today https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/paxton-jones-block-shiraz-2012-47ccba04, it is cheaper here: 2012 Paxton Jones Block Shiraz, McLaren Vale - myCellars.com.au
But get in quickly at that price, they may "get a phone call" causing a price increase.

Gutted. As some of you know, I have a bit of a soft spot for the Paxton JB 2012. So I immediately jumped on the MyCellar website saw 22 bottles left, and proceeded to buy 12. By the time I got to checkout all had sold out.

Great website with some great deals. Need to work out how to use it though, as it is frustrating me a bit (no doubt because the Fo website is so easy to navigate and buy, buy, buy!!).

I see the Paxton has also sold out on the Fo.

Luckily I am on holiday enjoying those happy hour coughtails as a consolation!

I agree - I think it's the Squid Ink. It matches up on Wine Companion. Putting it in the Boombox puts me off buying it in the 6 pack at $60 a bottle. I reckon they got it for a steal or the other wines are pretty average. Am I being too cynical?

It's squid ink, my broker called me today and forced me to me buy a case. Ok maybe I was happy to buy it.

I can tell what several of the others will be, as far as "average" goes I think they will all be good enough.

Mind you, I had enough credits to pay for the entire case (yet again) so I can't complain if there are a few lemons in there.

One of my members said it's just been re-stocked at the same price.
Was 121, down to 103 as I just checked, my guys (and probably some here) are getting into it.

Thoughts on the Tomich Bee?

It's an absolute disgrace that someone can suggest that this is a forty dollar pinot. It upsets me a lot that I have tried both their Woodside range and the i-777 and they are both superior. Yet the labelling on today's one says 'the very best'. What a fiasco. It has some fruit, it has some mild acidity, but it lacks depth, it lacks character, it just gets over the line in terms of body and the finish does nothing to draw in another glass. Incredibly disappointed and it will be going back. It tastes like a thirteen bucker, which would not be too far away as someone previously mentioned about their ten bucker. Sure it's a tricky grape to grow, but the marketing department needs a good discussion about where this Reserve pinot should really stand in their catalogue of wines.

Saw this in some wine magazine the other week. In summary voucher code UNITEDBYWINE100 gets you $100 off a purchase. Catches are order needs to be over $180 and for new members who join prior to 31 October.

Yep I bought too, happy to give the giant squid ink a go and a few other quaffers. My hubby has had squid ink and enjoyed but we aren't convinced that the giant would be better enough to justify the extra cash so will be interesting to see.

Yeah, I posted about this on the 14th (post #5103) - OzB has been all over it. Can be stacked with referral too, so it's really $125 off $180. Very good deal for Vinomofo virgins! :)

Nil desperandum.......the boombox will do nicely as a swap...........

Can't find anything on the internet about the 2013, only the 2012, which has a lower price ($60). Anything I'm missing?

AdMEL I don't think there is much if any info as far as reviews of the 2013 or even tasting notes. I used the 2012 score & through process of elimination the Red Hill was the best fit plus as Jasonking says the Vinomofo blurb mentions Red Hill as well as P&Q.

Just had a look & it's sold.

or set up a new account, all you need is a fake name, different phone number and different payment option (card).
use your original account to refer it and get a combined, $150 from referrals and the discount.

it worked for me, even got it sent to my normal address.

you gotta love VM marketing ...just got an email for the big boom Friday sale...click on to the site and ALL the 50+ wines advertised are "Sorry all Gone" lol

Yes, I agree! It is a joke! 50+ wines promised - clicked on it and a lot were "Sorry, all Gone". What? Joke, all
right!

Hmm...unless you had a bunch of cards under fake names, I'm not sure this is scalable

i had a credit card, then just used a paypal account on another card. most people have a second bank account they can link to a paypal or a partner/relative who will let you use they're card for a one off purchase.

I'm just saying what worked for me for anyone interested. In my case i used a paypal account linked to a second debit card and a friends phone number for the 4 digit confirmation code they send. the whole thing took about 15min and it worked, got the $100 and $25 referral on each accounts, it was delivered to the same address i use for all my other orders, it all worked like normal.

Pretty sure they gave advance access to all members on Thursday. Also aren't these 'big' Friday sales pretty much a once a month bin end sale? Probably limited quantities of most stuff.
