Any experience with Two Hands wines?
Any WOW factor?
I was thinking of separating into 4X750 mL bottles but that still comes to $62.50 each.
Paying premium for the Jeroboam bottle.
Might consider if it's normal 6 pack.

TBH I have not tried any Two Hands wines. I'm taking a couple of SYD friends to the Barossa in a couple of weeks so I will suggest we visit Two Hands.

The boys at the cellar door (Shannon and Mark) are fantastic. You get a guided tasting and usually some nibbles to go with. Love their Garden series wines, and the Secret Block shiraz is lovely. As are all the others....

Just putting it out there as I have never tried two hands' wines, and after looking at their website, i have the impression that they produce quality product at a premium price, but is it overpriced for what you get ? They have the ability to simply buy grapes from wherever they want, and we know that you can pay $550 a tonne for some grapes. So from an outsiders purely economic perspective, and considering the other comparative wine companies out there, do these wines from two hands give folks the 'wow , what an absolute stunner" factor ? I'll give that to you as a question, not a statement as Jonesey would say on a Monday night.

What the hell am i talking about, ramling on in a post euphoric stage after the consumption of too many pharmaceuticals? No, not quite even though sherlock holmes did enjoy a little morphine. The 2013 BM Shiraz could be the Langmeil Old vine Garden Orphan Bank Shiraz ???? Rather ironic timing if it is, since the Reserve dropped interest rates to 2%, and VM dropped this plonk to $15. If it is, you have to hand it to some VM smarty. Was this possibly the covert, cryptic,conclusive,committed contribution from Karlos??? God knows the aliteration really needed him to be a jackal !! Food for thought from others who know a lot more than me.

Langmeil did cross my mind. That would be a fantastic buy if it were. Price and alc matches. Old vines, check. Low yield, check. Cellaring very close....think you are correct!

No I don't think so.
2013 I don't think is released yet. 2012 alcohol 15% vs 14.5% for VM 2013 shiraz.
Also Langmeil is available in 6pk but BM shiraz comes in 12pk.
I don't believe Langmeil is export oriented.
I think one of those brands from Treasury Winery, but WHICH that is the question.

Virtual winery Palmarium paid over $3000 per tonne and their wines are available for $65. So maybe overpriced?

I pretty much agree with this summary. I like their wines and can say Ive never tasted a bad one but at retail price I;m not a buyer. At discount though, yes I have bought.

If it's the Orphan Bank (and thats my guess) its a very nice wine.

Yes I am pretty sure it has a rating on vivino so it could be just released. 6pk vs 12pk, I have had plenty of wines from VM that were sold as 12 but came in 2x sixers. And yes it is exported overseas.

I'm still hesitant to pay to join the RBG especially after hearing some of the stories and the damage he might have caused to wineries (all unsubstantiated claims and rumours of course).

Anyway, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm working on my own website that'll integrate deal finding a bit better. I don't intend to charge membership fees for it as it's mainly for friends to share a few things. I'll let you all know when that feature is functional.

In the meantime the Wynns V&A Lane is a VIM deal that has me excited. Been a while since I've seen a decent 'Fo deal. Even if you're not a VIM member I'm sure if you speak/email one of sales folks, they'll happily accommodate you (who'll say no to commissions?). While i realize that there is another thread that deals specifically with nice wines that folks have imbibed - and how i love the seriously exotic produce out there and I am envious - but in my reality, i enjoy the quality and value on offer from this site which is reasonably specific. So to the point. Last week i mentioned that i was trying the Hentleys Farm 13 especially to see why this rated so highly with dan murphy's eight reviewers. In the wines that the three of us had last saturday night, i am very pleased to say that it was magnificent. fresh, great fruit, complexity BUT most importantly it didn't let me down with pre-excitation anxiety(for those with this sort of problem, priligy is the answer)..it delivered, in spades, which to a wine seeker looking for quality, be it from a wine merchant or an on line buyer with knowledge is a very impressive thing. I am a very hard marker and am tough on my wines, but this had the wow factor and i loved it. vat 1 for me at over fifty bucks is over-rated. best wine of these was the zema estate, which makes sense as a great cabernet is the king of the reds. Having said this, all but one of these seven were very good. the second wine is the chardy from churchview that i recently got. i don't pull any punches in saying it's one of the best i have ever had.

now onto the maverick twins gsm 2013..i can't remember who said the 2013 was very good, possibly better than the 2012. it was a few posts ago. All i mention is those lucky folk who bought it, and there are many, it is absolutely beautiful. There is not much more one can say. It has supurb berry fruit , great body, a hint of chocolate, not much oak, and a lovely cherry flavoured, low tannic finish. I cannot find a single fault with it, and believe me, i try. when you think that this lands in at under a tenner, you realise how really lucky you are !! To those who bought, open a bot, and tell us your thoughts, SALUTE !!

Oh, do tell? Which wineries and how have I or my site caused damage? Since you are not a subscriber you have no idea what is on the members-only part of my site/forum.
I and my members support and have good relationships with many small producers.
