Vinomofo Wine Deals

My spies agree with this that it is Churchview Estate St Johns Limited Release, 16.0% a/v.

FYI - My tasting notes on the 2011 (bought through VM)

Nose of red berries with a hint of cedar wood and earthiness. Not a massive nose though but enough on offer.

Mouth is interesting. Palate is medium weight and quite well rounded, yet still has a hint of syrupiness to it (but not in a bad way). Bright fruit flavours, heaps of acid and a hint of spicy vanilla (American oak perhaps?). Very little alcohol heat which is impressive given the 16%! Medium to long finish.

Will be interesting to see how this progresses over the years.

86 points.

Anyone have any ideas on this sparkling Black Market for $9? Looks interesting.

The mixed Black Market case has arrived - I'll update shortly on it's contents!

Will post when it arrives.

I had the Rogers & Rufus out at a dinner a fortnight ago paired with goat curry. Thoroughly enjoyed and grabbed a case when it came up on VM a week later. Planning to cook a goat dish when the case arrives.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have had goat but don't remember ever having a goat curry. Perhaps I should try a R & R with a lamb rogan josh or korma.

I've also drank the Rogers & Rufus Rose - it was a random pick at my local IGA a few months ago on a hot Friday night. Drank it with friends and a steak sandwich I cooked - enjoyed it.

Didn't see it on VM - damn! What price was it?

EDIT: a quick google search shows VM were selling it for $7.50 a bottle 2 weeks ago as a mystery deal. Damn! Absolute bargain for a cracking rose. Think I paid $24!

Pretty sure this is the Diva NV Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay from Chain of Ponds in the Adelaide Hills.
VM have had at least one of their of their wines in the past (The Cachet 2006).
