Thanks for the intel RB,
Having already sent back two previous purchases I'm loath to go for a trifecta! The only thing I DO like about Vivino is that you can frequently get a couple of hundred ratings that show a wide degree of consensus (such as an average of four stars) when there's bugger all out there in terms of professional reviews ;)
Yeah, small maker, only about 64 dozen of this made each year, unlikely to have wide reviews.
I'm sure there are some good reviewers on Vivino, but I don't care to spend the time to work out who they are and only use Vivino sometimes if it comes up in a last-ditch google search.
You can always send it back.
Despite the fact that you had a dud experience I really appreciate that you have shared your impressions with "the crew", to add to the comment above I would have to say that I take to heart the descriptions from aficionados on this forum above and beyond anything posted on Vivino and elsewhere...
Nothing particularly special about this apart from it coming wrapped in paper and in a very fancy bottle - the cork is not Diam. I think the second reviewer had a better attempt at it on Vivino. There is no way I'd pay $80 for this wine and I have purchased better Barossa Shiraz on VM at half the price that this one is currently going for.

They have ACJ at $35 and War Horse at $45 pre-release in six packs.. Probably a better deal with those two, I might have to head over to the share a case thread and see if anyone in Melbourne wants to split one...
These not showing for me on the vinomofo site. May only be for premium members. Not bad prices. Got a URL?

The Ironstone is $24.99 at Winestar, but only in full dozens. Mystery MV167 Premium McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016 - Mystery Wine
Thanks for the tip re Winestar. Seeing as it is now gone on Vinomofo site, I pulled a trigger on a dozen over at Winestar (FOMO kicked in and I will split a case with a friend). Impressed with Winestar giving an option to manage/delay a delivery if an extreme heat weather is present.
Will report once I open a bottle of the Ironstone.

ACJ on pre-arrival at $35 per bottle.

Any link for the war horse?

If anyone has one for War Horse, I'd be appreciative of receiving it. Via PM if preferred.

Are you referring to cashrewards?

Definitely tracked at $14.70 for me. Which represents 9%. I can't see anything on the shopback site which indicates a different rate for members new or old.
thanks mate
Silly question but how do you order after clicking through from shopback as I cant locate the wine? thank you
