Vinomofo Wine Deals

There's a difference between a worthy $100 bottle of wine and $100 RRP, particularly in the day and age of 'made for mof_'. Wouldn't get too hard over an RRP.
Good point.
The made for Fo implies a certain amount of market power doesn't it.
And we all saw that eighty buck disaster a few years ago... Name escapes.

So we will wait.....

You mention a real hundred bucker.. That's a marketing tool. But as I always say Good is Good

Correct we are not talking Standish right. 2nd night on the Vine Vale and I thoroughly enjoyed it, would go as far to say it was beautiful tonight. The fruit and tannins have really balanced out, will have to put a few of those aside.

To be honest, i almost went for the Vic shiraz at normal $45 or close but presented with an opportunity to try a hundred bucker, well to me its a new thing. Punters on this forum seem to be used to that sort of price point and can I say that if you didn't buy it from VM and it was average, where do you go? So it's an absolute no brainer. The Fo's new favourite? Sounds like my daughters line from a list of boyfriends !!! Anyway, I should be getting along now .

Let me just say that the Bellvale 2019 Pinot is 9.5/10. Stunning.

Was the Bellvale Pinot a recent VM offer? I do like that drop...

It just goes to show we do not all inhabit the same taste worlds. I loved my first one, and naturally i hope they all taste like that.
Yours should be going back to the Fo.
I liked it so much BF, that after trying a bottle I immediately ordered another sixer before they sold out of it, sounds like RnD had to let it open up (a lot!) before experiencing what you and I saw in the wine, I've had wines like that myself, two or three nights and then they kick in and you realise what all the fuss was about :)

Rosenvale Vine Vale Road 2017 Shiraz

tried last night.. very ordinary plonk imo….just scrapes into the quaffer basket….
Dang! I bought six of that based on people on this thread saying they liked it. What was the issue? Maybe I'd best try it and see if I need to return...

I liked it straight out of the starting blocks I have to say, I'd certainly rip the scab off one as soon as they arrive, let it breathe for a couple of hours in a moderately warm room and settle in for a very pleasant ride...(and then cellar the rest but to my humble palate it's in the good to go now category)

The Mrs loved it. I found it a tad monotone, but I've come down with a cold, so may have affected my already amatuer opinions. Its available on ebay for 21% off code if you have a ebay plus account. $101.44

Edit: I know I'd rather be drinking the Rosenvale over this Negroni that I made, but hey, a lot of people love Negroni's! :) (My first Negroni)

Ok, thanks I should have read down. I'll stay alert but not alarmed. One problem I have is that I wasn't going to taste it for a few years and by then it would be too late to return. So breathe very well you think?
My suggestion would be, ALWAYS let a young red breath well (I aim for 2-3 hrs on most young red varietals), and always crack a bottle on arrival if you havent tried it previously. Noone I knew decanted wine, and it put me off wine for 40 years. Doing some research and learning the benefits of decanting was a blessing... and a curse :D

Just on the Ebay Plus train...an extra 21% off is tempting...

VM BM deal #32590

Reluctant to boom on that sizable dent in my wallet without knowing what I’m getting myself in for. Can’t find it here and can’t find it on unwraps either..

Anyone given this rather luxurious red a nudge?

Shiraz 2013 | Grant Burge
First offered October 2019, slow to sell.

Thanks red - knew I could count on you

Slow to sell no doubt cause of the price.

Surely someone on here must have given it the T.hanks over the last year..
I like this wine and buy it often. $60 is my buying point. Not worth $100.

Thanks Chonka, I don't have an Ebay Plus a/c but in any case I've been giving the Visa card a good workout of late so will restrain myself ;). On the Rosenvale, I've probably had more complex wines but still think it's very good buying at this price point, revisit it post-cold and you might have a better time of it...
