A very good chance. Fits the profile, including alcohol level and price. I don't know much about Patrick Eckel, the reviewer whose 96 points are used to entice, but I notice the Warramunda wines have received mixed scores on Winefront. The Warramunda Estate Syrah 2015 got 88 points, while the Warramunda Coldstream Syrah 2016 scored 94. The most recent Warramunda review on WF - the Estate Liv Zak Malbec 2018 - was also 88.

Anybody tried the wine on offer?

My due diligence suggests a reasonable wine, one that i was going to BUY but on ebayplus of all places.
It was$128.40 less a $5 discount voucher offered. Crikey, the things we do to save five bucks.
BUT, I had problems on my phone doing the sale.
There is a 97 pointer BM deal there too at RRP $40. The above is RRP $55. dfor the same price.
see what your own mind tells you, the dearer must be better. It may be tricking me because i know $40 to $60 is a same same type of area.
However I am still in my research mood, inside after changing the oil the old fashioned way in the SL.
Some don't like the Victorian style, higher in acidity but huge flavours, more complexity. I feel like Big Kev.

I am impressed with how quickly some get the wines here. Whining and dining loves a challange and so do I. Hitting the nail on the head for me is difficult and for the past thirty minutes, i have tried deducing the WA BM 35579 deal. I am no good with the hi tech copy and pastes. But this WA wine is one hundred bucks, a 2018 shiraz from an area that i have to admit have heard bugger all about. Blackwood valley. Where i said. So with homework, there are only about 14 wineries there.

I have looked thru all 14 websites and nuffin doing. A hundred down to $30. The old brain again saying this one if forty five bucks more than the yarra Valley shiraz so it just has to be devine. Come on. You dont spend a hunge on a wine that tastes like a very very good twenty two bucker.

Flumoxed, perplexed, bamboozled and drained, that is thirty minutes of my life that cannot be returned. But i did find that although i have no idea how the wines taste in this region whether they have their own terroir and characteristic, what i did find was the greta value available. I think Curlew estate has a novel 12 pack with 4 botts of single vineyard shiraz from 4 vinatages 16 17 18 19 which i thought was a good idea.

Little kev now.

I think the wine from the Blackwood is Optimus The Terrace Block 2 from Latitude 34. None available from the winery as i am presuming that VM bought the lot, however I did pick up the 2014 previously from VM. It was similar in oak character to the Vin Vale but from memory maybe not as rounded, i probably should have given it a decant first. I have only had the one bottle so far.

OK... More homework. I was wondering there for a second as latitude four more ala latitude 37 is a supurb home builder.
Well done.

To cut to the chase, whether to spend an extra ten bucks per bottle on a hundred bucker compared to a fifty five bucker. I was ultimately confronted by a now Covid free 'alleged" dubious character with two thumbs up saying that the west oz shiraz is coming my way. Now this one will be a tester.

Look forward to hearing your feedback on the 18, maybe a bit if east vs west shirazoff with the Vin Vale and price point

It helps to have access to the right information, it saves a lot of time. To ensure I can work out most of them fairly quickly, especially if there is a score attributed, I maintain subscriptions to The Wine Companion, TWF, Wine Orbit (Sam Kim) The Real Review (Huon Hooke, Bob Campbell etc) and Winestate. The ones that don't have scores shown are a bit more difficult, but if a prior vintage has been offered I can usually find it pretty quickly. The Optimus has been offered before (2016 vintage June 08 2020), was easy to find.

eBay Plus has Vinomofo discounts of 10% currently (code PIN10), was 15% recently and 10% before that, prices +$9 compared to VM site, but still a decent saving on some wines.

Rosenvale Vine Vale Road 2017 Shiraz

tried last night.. very ordinary plonk imo….just scrapes into the quaffer basket….
It just goes to show we do not all inhabit the same taste worlds. I loved my first one, and naturally i hope they all taste like that.
Yours should be going back to the Fo.
Chicken kiev roast tonight so the 2019 Bellvale PN again. I hope I am not saying that after the WA purchase but the beauty is, its a simple send back.
If I was a complete larrikan and liked it, I could ring up the Fo and say it was average and then be content on having a free hundred bucker.
Crikes, why does my brain work in funny ways? I'd never do that.

This is one I haven't been able to work out though, despite looking at just about every 5 red star winery (from any region) that makes a Barossa Shiraz. The closest matches don't have a female winemaker listed.

Not 100% sure but it is the third or fourth instalment from them. The FO's new favorite
To be honest, i almost went for the Vic shiraz at normal $45 or close but presented with an opportunity to try a hundred bucker, well to me its a new thing. Punters on this forum seem to be used to that sort of price point and can I say that if you didn't buy it from VM and it was average, where do you go? So it's an absolute no brainer. The Fo's new favourite? Sounds like my daughters line from a list of boyfriends !!! Anyway, I should be getting along now .

Let me just say that the Bellvale 2019 Pinot is 9.5/10. Stunning.

So second half down the hatch tonight and perhaps I have been a tad harsh.. regraded as a perfectly Ok.. er … Quaffer… 🥴
I never send stuff back.. I have a box of quite undrinkable rubbish that plan to pour down the sink.. but if I am silly enough to buy it , I can suffer the consequences

FWIW they dont rate highly. Another case of over inflated RRP for an average product. The FO's discount price is closer to what its RRP should be.

There's a difference between a worthy $100 bottle of wine and $100 RRP, particularly in the day and age of 'made for mof_'. Wouldn't get too hard over an RRP.
