Vinomofo Wine Deals

Duck Sauce - The Don. Anyone tried this?

Am keen to hear peoples thoughts on this as some of VM premium wines are spectacular. The 2012 Art of War - 'The General' shiraz was a keeper....I mean a drinker.

For $30 per bottle the pinot would want to be good, considering theres been some great pinots recently..

Appriciate any input!

Looks like this:

I'm getting different cashback offers from Westpac every week, most are useless but this one looks ok.

If I didn't opt in to the Westpac marketing emails and make the spend in the required dates with an eligible card, would I likely still get the cashback?
ie. the offer applies to all cardholders, but the only ones notified are those who opt in to the marketing emails....

Hmmm just saw the FAQ:

Can I transfer my offers to a friend or family member?
No. These offers have been customised for you based on your spending habits and are not transferrable to anyone else.
:(

While strictly not a deal per se, the Vinimofo television advertisement tonight should entice a few other wine afficiandos into buying.

What's next, a play for an ASX listing? While treasury wine estate is a behemoth and a different beast , who knows.

Liquor seems to go down reasonably well as a retail ASX play, but I do remember the daily planet stumbling to its knees.

Yes I would take the '15 cab over the '13 blend, purely based on its increased intensity and complexity. I rated the '13 blend a 90 on CT versus a 94 for the '15 cab.

I just grabbed a dozen of the 13 from CM at $10/bottle on the basis that the 15 will still be obtainable for a while. If anyone has grabbed the 15 and wants to do a part exchange I'd be up for it, located in Bayside Melbourne or occasionally the CBD...

Mitolo Cantiniere

Is the Mitolo still available? If so, would love if someone could share the link! Cheers!

The Mitolo Cantiniere blend is still available, it's not on the site but they definitely have it because I just called and ordered a case after returning the Allegiance cab. Just give them a call....and its free shipping today :)

Haven't had to return anything from the fo to date however I am seriously considering sending the dromana estate Pinot back. Is the process easy? Any suggestions of a replacement case, looking for a every day drinker now or cellar Shiraz or cab. Any thoughts on the twins?

process is super easy. I made my first and only return recently (Fox + Hounds). just call them, they'll arrange pick up, courier will call you and you'll get credited.

Replacement? can't go past the Maverick Twins shiraz for $12. Bought it on Delectable Blues recommendation and we had a bottle over the weekend. Wonderful. (so chocolatey). Tempted to go to the well for another case but also have 13 cab blend and 15 cab on their way while I'm on my way to getting into Dr Ralph's situation ;-)

Yes, i meant to THANK you and also blame you (wife said no more wine as we have more than we can drink) for "twisting my arm". As i mentioned in my previous post, tried the shiraz over two nights and my wife and i both loved it. needless to say there was no mention that this arrived after the embargo.

You're welcome, and I'm sorry. I've found the trick is to buy wine that the wife loves, then pretend that I'm the one on a buying embargo. She then invariably "insists" that I simply have to buy more, despite the lack of space. Happy wife, happy life. :)

I just ordered the twins cab and shiraz, also planning to return the dromana estate - glad it isn't just me on that one, pretty disappointed with it.

I received 3 cases last week, Mitolo Cantiniere cab shiraz, Bittersweet Symphony and Allegiance Cab......The Mitolo was opened last night and was magnificent, thoroughly enjoyed every drop....the other 2 were disappointing and are going back ASAP.

I found the BSweet quite good. It needed quite a few hrs in the decanter to open up though. Generous and powerful on the palate. Red and black fruit, toasty oak, good acidity and fine tannins...all for $12. Mine wont be going back :) Are people getting a little picky/fussy or is it just me?

The old Thistledown two roads....on the label from memory says something like " we travelled to the fork in the road and took the road less travelled ".

I bought this one last year, a case, and only had one bottle. From memory, I didn't mind it at all and I did inquire from one of these MV's as to what they are trying to do with the style. It did have great fruit from memory. I did get a reply quickly and that made me buy the case, but I can't remember the context exactly. I'd go 4 botts though.

So! Was it the Thistldown Two Roads? I loved it, and even enquired via the winery for more when VM didn't have any left. The winery had none and did not mention they were producing more. If VM have got their hands on more, I'd love to know, will drop them a line.

VM aren't trying too hard these days to mask the Black Market deals https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/black-market-deal-shiraz-2014-1e49a478a? Tony Key's review kinda says it all! "The ‘Cantiniere’ Shiraz 2014 is the senior and deserves gravitas. The nose starts way before close contact. It lifts from the glass at arm’s length. It’s not yeasty, nor is it bacon frying, but the effect it has is like the aroma of bacon, or freshly baked bread. With the expectation of pleasure already set high, the journey has to be special, and it is. Spice, ripe black fruits and a hint of savoury all entwine to please the drinker. 96 points and for those that have it, $68 is a fair price."

Likely a mistake and will be corrected once noticed.

Same here read the write up and well thanks VM. Maybe it was left in for other reasons? Cheers
