Vinomofo Wine Deals

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Well I have taken the plunge. Hopefully I will raise a glass of thanks on "Friday 20th November".

5 days! Wow, wish I could get service like that from VM.

Well that's what the email said. We shall see.
Well VM went one better and it turned up today. And is indeed what beefarmer suggested it would be.

I am enjoying the remnants of a bottle of SB so will wait until the 20th to try it.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Anyone got the script for the Glenlofty 2013 Shiraz? I missed seeing it earlier.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

does anyone have opinions on Heirloom shiraz 2013? Its on Winemarket at 22.50 a bottle but i normally only purchase from VM so can only compare with their offerings. As a gauge one of my faves so far has been Mothers Vine. thanks for any help!

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

i bought a case. off memory the description was pretty much the standard for Glenlofty. As someone has previously mentioned I'm sure it will be back up tomorrow.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Regarding the Glenlofty 2013 Shiraz, any supporting data or experience on the expected quality?

While the 2011 and 2012 are well documented and referenced as outstanding quality on their own site, I can't find much of anything online regarding this 2013 vintage.

You guys buying just based on past vintages or have anything else to go on?

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Im buying purely on previous vintage - i had the shiraz,SV and cab sauv - all great in my opinion & amazing value for money

We seem to be wandering way off topic again folks. There is a grammar thread for those who feel the need.

Can we please get back to talking about Vinomofo Wine Deals?

On a serious note straitman, I sent in a lovely on the spot written poem a few Friday nights ago, and my entire thread was ditched. Any chance you could send me a private message with that poem as I feel it had such finesse and quality and would allow me to put that ode of many, many paragraphs into my travels thru life. It set the tone nicely, at least for me and another important AFFer about out lives. So please chase up your list of moderated comments and send a copy my way. Cheers.

I will be looking forward to that favour of mine in the PM section. the sentiments and humour are difficult to remember without you mod types.

From what I believe, the lovely elena Brooks makes a lot of wine for many of her and Zars companies and because terroir is important, they are all going to vary. Essentially she has a great pedigree meaning you will not be dissaointed with pretty much everything, but will it have the 'wow' factor, I dunno. I recently had the heirloom delivered in a mixed pack of 6, maybe from winestate. I am a big fan of a zonte's footstep rose of all things. That is a beautifully made cheapy.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Get in quick before Beefarmer buys up the lot or tells the world how good it is likely to be at under the $9 price point..!!

Haha, pretty much what I was thinking when I saw it! My dilemma was deciding if I should buy multiple cases, ended up only buying 1 at this stage. Will be annoyed if it sells out completely before any testing and evaluations come through.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

More Lofty. Sigh... maybe I should.

What's that 2011 pinot noir from Mornington? My search skills are getting worse I think... =(

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

literally just got the GL cab sav but dammit im going to have to get the shiraz too. maybe 2 boxes given the last couple of years.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

No idea on the Mornington but have been tempted by the Seppelt. Recently finished the Pinot 2.0 line-up which I bought when returning the Tomich. Not much help given no longer available but my view was 3 quite good wines (for the price) - Riposte En Garde, K1, Duck Sauce. The Layla was drinkable but not something I would buy again while Trapeze and Longboard were disgorged to the sink and the empty bottles spirited to a neighbour's recycling bin under the cover of darkness for fear of anyone checking what we have been drinking. While the mixed cases give a chance to sample various wines, like some Salvation experiences mentioned, the expectation seems to be that you will get a couple of bottles not to your liking, reducing the value of the others. Duck Sauce is available separately and is a good Pinot at that price point (and as previously mentioned, on a par with the Central Otago chalkboard Pinot from the Coles vendors at sub $20).
Also for reference, opened my first Giant Squid Ink and was extremely disappointed to have only bought a 6 pack. Very good drinking now and outshone our second bottle which was a (admittedly young) 2011 Bin 389 which would have been a similar price point.
Fingers crossed someone has view on Seppelt or Mornington (although I haven't made any repeat pruchases from the region).

What was the Trapeze? I bought some from the Fo a while back and thought it was quite good.
