Vinomofo Wine Deals

Hello Everyone,

How are you? i am fine.
Hows the weather where you are? The weather is nice here.

So i ordered a collaboration case on the 28th of Aug and received the email saying it's on the way on the 2nd Sep, but it never showed up and the delivery guy never called to arrange delivery, so ten days later i'm checking the site and on my account it says it was delivered on the 3rd Sep. i've emailed them but they haven't replied yet.

is it normal for the site to say stuff been delivered when it hasn't, is it also normal to take over two weeks for a case to be delivered (i'm in Adelaide cbd)?

i'm a little worried about how to prove i never got the case if their system says its been delivered...
Anyone else had stuff go missing? how did you go about getting a replacement etc?

I'm old and new to giving people money over the internet.
ps. you're all great.

tell them that you have a split personality, just like the split collaboration case. tell 'em you like wine, but also tell em you don't like WHINE..........it'll keep them amused for about.....yeh, four seconds.

Just sampling the Fox Creek Fox and Hounds 2013 Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon from the mof_ Ace Pack (August 2015).

[Back to reality after my weekend affair with the very amazing Paxton Jones Block 2012].

I agree with all the other plaudits given on this blog to this Fox Creek SCS. It's DANGEROUSLY drinkable. Here's my posh write up on Vivino:

"Dark cherry in colour, and a nice light cherry smell. The blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon offers a beautiful (mostly cherry) dark fruit palate, making for a very, very drinkable wine. It is light, but very well balanced, and offers a very generous experience for its price point (under $9 from Vino mof_). Great for everyday drinking, and low key parties. Highly recommended."

3.5 Stars

I also agree with others - it's better than the straight Shiraz. For me, the straight Shiraz had a tautness (or greenness) at the end of the palate that slightly interfered with a lovely classy initial fruit taste.

Hi Guys - joined a week or so ago - enjoying the thread

Just tried the link but it only gave $25 NOT $100 - any ideas?

Also noticed the range has been reduced!

Nice review there Wozza...I only picked up the straight shiraz and judging by your comments, it appears the blend although being lighter in body, does win the chocolates. I too have an ace pack lurking somewhere I am sure....

Finally took the plunge and spent my credits from the August referral push.

Highrollers 4.0 - cant wait! Um'd & Ah'd for a while....lock it in eddy.

Normally $225 for 6 wines isn't something I would even attempt to justify to the wife ;-) $25 is much more appealing!

Now to hustle more referrals with the new push. Bring on highrollers 5.0! Hahahaha

Any ideas on the Durif ?

I am thinking the 2014 version of the Sam Miranda Durif: Sam Miranda of King Valley Single Vineyard Glenrowan Durif 2013 | Australian Wine Companion

If it is, then the 2013 vintage got a JH 93 and a tasting note that included, to quote the big man: "The colour is deep, with a vibrant purple rim; the palate is unashamedly full-bodied, but avoids excessive tannins; black fruits, licorice and bitter chocolate are all there."

The only other option I came up with was the 2014 version of this Brown Brothers Durif:

http://www.winecompanion.com.au/win...-release-single-vineyard-heathcote-durif-2013

This fits the "limited release" tag mof_ have used, but the price and description better match the Miranda.

I am quite tempted by this offer of today's three offers. Only because I haven't tried this variety, and like to try something new. I would need to refer this over to the Share a Pack thread, though, as I only am interested in trying a few bottles, not taking 12.

My search picked up Gapsted Ballerina Canopy, which feels right insofar as Gapsted have been sold on VM before. Can't confirm the RRP or alc % though...

I was also thinking Gapsted given the recent offerings, however no one seems to have a 2014 yet...

I think you all may be right. In which case, I am out. At least for now, until somebody says I have missed out on a good one. It doesn't appear to be as good as the Miranda (if past vintages are a guide).

I've bought quite a bit of wine from the Fo over the last 12 months, too much perhaps ;). I'm a bit worried about how I am storing it now that warmer weather is with us. The whites and rose are in polystyrene wine storage cases, the reds are mostly still in the cartons they came in, and all are stored in an internal walk in wardrobe/cupboard in my Sydney apartment. I'm near the water and my apartment building is a very solid 1940s brick with concrete floors, so it's pretty well insulated and an even temp usually. Is there anything else I should be doing? Am I risking damaging the wines? Don't really want to go the wine fridge route...
