Vinomofo Wine Deals

The way it reads is that if 'They' don't buy before the end of the month, it will be reduced, but it doesn't really specify if the referee's credit will be reduced?

Thats the way i read it but i'm not sure i'm willing to take the risk. Will prob wait till the free shipping end of month sale (if they have one) and make a purchase then

The way I see this month is:

* Person referring gets $50 as long as the person they refer buys in August. Otherwise it's as per usual ($25)
* Person referred gets $50 as long as they signup in August. So even if they buy in September.

Remember, person referring only sees credit in their account once the order is made, not when they signup. So their balance won't go down unless orders are returned/cancelled.

Their text:

* Any friends you refer before 31/08/15 will receive $50 Welcome Credit
* Make sure they get onto it - the welcome credit will reduce to $25 if they sign up after 31st August
* Remember, if they place an order by 31 August, you will receive a $50 thank you credit. If they purchase after, you'll still receive $25.

Now I've read that a couple of times, I'm not so sure what happens at the end of the month. I'm gonna spend mine before the month is up just in case!

That's exactly how I interpret it....I just wanted to make sure as I don't fancy anything at the moment and don't want to be 'forced' to buy just because my credit will be reduced.

?
Just joined also, but just received the Barossa Shiraz - Lou Miranda Estates Golden Lion, as some here have already stated.
Haven't had a chance to try yet!

Interesting the Mt Avoca cab sav $30 down to $12 and now the shiraz same price $30 down to $12.
Just got off ph to mate of mine that co-incidentally just left the winery and picked up these wines for $8 a bottle.

Good to know, haha

A brief report back on the Wynns V&A that I finished last night:

Day 1 - straight from the first sniff and taste you could tell this was a well structured and well balanced wine for cellaring, even before it had really opened up. Those first two glasses were 'very drinkable', with subtle lawyers of cherry (the predominant flavour) and oak. Smooth tannins.

Day 2 - amazed at how consistent the taste and experience was between Day 1 and Day 2. Two more glasses down.

Day 3 - Wow, the wine has really opened up and the fruit has come to the fore, brimming with berries (still that cherry taste, but others too) and chocolate. There was a dash of spice at the end of the medium finish.

Great wine, with great potential. It is very, very drinkable now, and a classy affair. Luckily I have lots of other VM wines to get through before circling back to the rest of the 6 pack - if I didn't, I suspect the rest would go very quickly!

[And if I compare it to its brother - The Black Label - tried the month before, it is a similar experience, but probably better value given its price point.]

Highly recommended.
What year was the VA please ? and was it the Cab/Sav

The Star Lane Merlot looks to be a good one - it won't be to everybody's taste. It's big and very fruity (blackberries and cherries), and fairly sweet, but with lots of spiced layers balancing out that sweetness. The smell is very powerful and decadent, matching the taste, and the structure is very sure. Full report to follow, but very promising ...

(And remember, it's $16.50 a bottle from VM - bargain.)

Fox and Hounds 2013 Shiraz from the Blackmarket deal arrived this morning. Will have a taste tonight and report back.

Just on that, I've had a bottle of Winesave that I use whenever I have a bottle open overnight or longer (basically adds a layer of inert Argon gas above the wine to stop air getting to it). I've no idea if it works really but it makes me feel better :D

What's the longest you've left a wine before trying it again after using winesave? I'm curious as my partner doesn't drink red wine and I'm often torn on opening a bottle if I know I won't be drinking the next night or two. A wine maker told me it's ok to freeze remaining wine to stop it spoiling, which seems to work fine, but if I'm not prepared and get the bottle out in the morning before work, it doesn't defrost in time to enjoy that night. Winesave sounds intersting

I was thinking that myself.
Perhaps somebody more knowledgeable than I could answer.
Isnt this a question of whats is the alternative. Yes this will probably aerate the wine further but less than being left in a decanter for an extended period.

Prosecco dropped off yesterday, and Pinot Gris collect early this morning (it waas still dark out). Can't complain about that service!
