I had mine (AZ) in early April, slightly sore arm but that is all. Hubby had his (again AZ) on Wednesday morning, different respiratory clinic. Nothing, not even a sore arm.

My Medicare vaccine record was updated within a couple of hours of the jab but hubby's is still showing nothing 4 days later. Has anyone else had it take that long or does that suggest something has gone wrong?

It's alright for you youngns, but as I get older I find my liver takes bookings.

Mrs SS works at a Sydney hospital and had her first AZ a few weeks ago at their staff vaccination hub. Her employer is now offering adult family members of staff the vaccine, AZ for over 50s and PF for under 50s. I am in 2a so have been trying to get vaccinated (local clinic saying May 24 onwards) but this is a welcome opportunity for the 2 cygnets (early 20s) to advance in the queue.

Not sure the reasoning for the offer but it could be a push by NSW Govt and also an attempt to reduce Pfizer wastage.

In Vic Pfizer is distributed via a number of hospitals and then main hubs. But currently yes no GP's including Respiratory Clinics (which in Vic are run by GPs) administer Pfizer. So anyone in Vic getting a vaccination via a GP will be getting AZ.

For Pfizer you are either told (invited) when to get it (ie medical staff as an example under 50) or if one is eligible for Pfizer under the latest expansions (ie say transport workers and taxi drivers under 50) or medication exemptions, then you call 1800 675 398 to book in at one of the Pfizer Centres (many, if not all of which, can also do AZ). If a seeking Pfizer for medical reasons one will need a letter from one's doctor as to why.

I believe that such eligible people in Victoria for Pfizer after booking in via 1800 675 398 may receive their dose at:

• Bendigo Hospital - old Emergency Department
• Shepparton Showgrounds
• Former Ford Factory – Geelong
• Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital
• Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC)
• Mercure Hotel and Convention Centre, Ballarat
• Northern Hospital Epping
• Traralgon Racecourse
• Wodonga Community Clinic

Various hospitals also do Pfizer, but only to those who are invited.

Things keep evolving, and expanding, and so the above might not be completely accurate.

Just got my 1st Pfizer jab this morning, maybe 6 months earlier than I though.

ZERO injection pain, amazing. Very faint injection site pain. Second dose appt 7th June.

I had my first AZ shot 23rd April - at a covid clinic(?) setup in my regular GP's building. The next shot is booked in for 16th June.

I had a headache that night and my shoulder hurt the next day for 5 days, with a lump at the injection site that was hot to touch - then for another 2 days it was sore only if touched - laying on my side in bed etc.

I'm under 50, group 1b.

General question for those who have posted about sore arms, headaches etc. how long do these take to kick in. I had the AZ jab this morning and so far no side effects so am just wondering if I have some aches and pain to look forward to or for some are there are little or no side effects. Maybe I am just counting my chicken before they hatch.

My wife was about 9 hours and I was about 15 hours. Our friend was one of those who had no side effects.
