VA Points / SC Credits - Anyone notice how slow it has become recently

Throw that idea out the window, Flew Sunday, filed the missing claim on Monday, still nothing shown today ( Thursday)
So the Sunday flight credited 6 days after, flew Friday and SCs in today Sunday! No claim needed.

Flew Monday night, put a points claim in Tuesday AM - still nothing in my account.

Now im finding ( for VA metal and ticket flights) that if you put in for a claim, it takes longer to credit. My last 2 sectors are crediting within 48hrs without any intervention.

Have they ever posted that quick? I'd have given it at least another day.

The only time I've needed to put in a claim is when partner airlines were involved.

Yes. About a month ago after points claim they were in my account within 24 hours.

My last VA flight credited within 30 hours of landing without any intervention on my part at all.

In the thousands of SC I have earned in the VFF program on multiple partners, I can only recall needing to submit a single claim for 'missing' points (for a SQ flight during the FF interconnection issues that occurred in May this year).

In comparison, the opposition still appears to have the ongoing issue where if you upgrade, 50% of the time the flight will post with no SC or points. This has occurred on more occasions than I can recall (>10).

What's the rush?

They're slow, but they generally get there.

Agreed I can understand the desire to 'punish' VA for previous slow postings by submitting these requests so early, but it isn't really very sensible. The most likely outcome is that VA will create a submission form that won't allow you to submit until 2 weeks after the flight date, like some other airlines do. No need to abuse the system.

Yes. Just what is the rush, Oneworldplus2?

Interested to know why you'd step off the plane and submit a request, when you could do nothing and it'll sort itself in 2-4 days (as has been the case for every flight in the last year for me).

Been a week, still no points.

One of the reasons why was because l was just on the cusp of Silver/Gold, and wanted to be Gold in the 2 PER/BNE sectors for the extra points.

Hey, each to their own l guess....

Make sure that when they do come through that you check to see if they have automatically adjusted for the higher status - if not, give them a call and get them to do a manual re-calculation to add the "missing" points. You are entitled to them...

Hey QF WP, this was my dilemma, and hence why l was trying to hurry up the situation. But, Fly Buys Gold came along and l didn't need it, but l was still trying it out.

In all fairness, this is one area where VA need to improve on.

I am not surprised that thet are slow at acting in missing status credit claims, because they are being inundated with missing status credit claims.

I can report another less than 30 hour effort (from landing) for a VA operated flight with no intervention on my part.

They are consistently quick in crediting now....

I think that is universally agreed on! I think the main problem apart from the slowness is that they are unreliable and unpredictable so people aren't sure when they are going to get their points and have to check to make sure they come through at all rather than just the speed. If VA introduced their policy as for example 'everything is posted within 1 week guaranteed or you get double your points' I'm sure people would be happy because at least you'd have certainty they were coming within a specific time frame.
Currently I'm ranging anything from 48 hours to 2.5 and 4 weeks, for domestic. That's just annoying flying as much as I do!

Re: Posting of points

It was mentioned upthread that maybe the additional complication of having three economy catageries and a different style of earning for the cheapest threw a spanner into the works when necessary software changes appear to have failed to make the deadline.

I suspect they had to manually review much more of earning.

Knowing the history of VA's IT service providers and their seeming ability to "milk" to the max revenue from projects (since the current supremo brought his legacy ideas into the company) I was not surprised.

Anyway it seems that from about June 11th much of the issues have been rectified.

Re: Posting of points

My flight over the weekend credited within 30 hours, although I can't work out the earning of SCs now; thought I had figured it out but what I received was higher than I expected which is better than being lower. One more VA flight to take on the 1 September and I will keep silver for another 12 months.

Re: Posting of points

There's the thing.

PER - BNE used to earn 20 or 40 SC in economy.

Now it's 15, 30 or 45.
