Posting of points

Why does VA take so long to post points?

Domestic sectors.

With #FF on the BP, it can still take up to 10+ days for points to post.

I've had QF points land in my account within 12 hours after a flight. VA just seem to be all over the shop. Did a sector a few months ago and had to lodge points claim (FF on BP), took almost 3 weeks. Crazy. Is their system so bad/old it's just the way it is?

Re: Posting of points

Try booking a redemption flight on Virgin on an IPad and it will show you that Virgin's IT is in trouble on a continuing basis. QF works pretty seamlessly.

On my current US trip, all flights on the same PNR with VA and Velocity # on all BPs, domestic PER-SYD sector and SYD-LAX each took 4 days to post SCs and points. Still no sign though of the LAX-SEA sector from 14th March posting (VA codeshare, operated by DL), and I suspect I'll have to chase that one up (according to the VA website, apparently need to send a copy of the boarding pass for DL flights, so can't do that until I get home in a few weeks).

Re: Posting of points

DL booked flights to our VA account and points (8 flights) came through within 32hrs from landing (could have been sooner).

VA booked flights, I had to put a claim in, then had to email scanned boarding pass, then argue with a VA rep that despite being printed on a Air China BP, it clearly was a VA booking.

There's no consistency.

Re: Posting of points

I'm not finding that. Certainly there is a delay but it is a consistent delay - usually 3 days. I arrived SYD-LAX on Friday 24th and the points and SCs were in my account Monday 27th. Domestic sectors similar. Now accommodation, car hire and other things - well that's an entirely different story. Had some random one load in a while back and I had no idea what it was from.

Re: Posting of points

Might be a way of saving money for them and not having so many points on the books! Few times it's seemed too much of a hassle to chase up.

Re: Posting of points

Last month we flew JNB-VFA return with South African airways, the return leg points and sc's posted the next day but I'm chasing the first leg. I emailed velocity and was Initially told it was a ineligible booking class. I sent through my itinerary showing them it was . We got a op-upgrade so I explained that might be the reason why it's showing ineligibility. They replied they will chase it up and may take 6 weeks .

Re: Posting of points

VA has pretty consistently been 4 days after travel for me.
Oddly, I have had SQ post next day. Don;t know why VA take so long.

Re: Posting of points

Yes VA domestic used to post to my account without fail at the second midnight UTC after the flight. Now it's anything from three to seven days or never.

But to be fair, an organisation that can't organise to add a single 's' over a period of years (the Velocity website still counts 'Points' and 'Status Credit') probably shouldn't be expected to quickly post points for flights

Hi All,

Not sure if it is just me or for everyone, points and SC credits are now taking upto a week to be credited. Makes it a bit harder to track (and I track because it is VA and I dont know when some will be lost as enhancements).

Cheers, Ap

Yes I have noticed this, it is annoying. I recently attained SG (no free FlyBuys Explore here!) and some flights posted on 3-5 May, with an activity of 26 & 28 April - but my upgrade was processed on 29 April. So the SCs earned on the 28th have not counted to re-qualifying despite jumping the 500 hurdle after activity on the 26th. I guess I'll have to send an e-mail...

I have noticed them taking 5-7 days, get SQ flights credited to VA take 24-36hrs?
Pretty poor really.

Was going to post a similar thread. Been 7 days since my SQ flights and no sign of points or SCs ( VA ticket)
traveled thru the states 3weeks ago, and the DL flights posted within 48hrs. Then NZ BNE-AKL-LAX posted within 4 days.

I have only just started flying with VA again after a 2 year absence. As they used to come through in about 1-2 days, after day 2 I just put in a missing points claim, they were there the following day.

i am watching closely as I need to get my sectors up to 8 by mid month to retain WP. I have the required SC (from partner earn) I forgot I had to fly on VA marketed flights.

6-7 days on VA flights. Other carriers crediting to VA are much quicker eg EY
DL within 24-36 hours, every time for me in the past few weeks. Just the VA operated stuff that seems to take forever.

Recently returned from a trip to the US, all booked through VA. VA operated flights (domestic and international) took 4-5 days, DL domestic US flights (VA codeshares) didn't post at all, so had to chase them up.
