VA Double Status Credit Offer

Looking at my points totals so far as of right now, I've got 46k points. Looking around the VA/VFF sites, I could get MEL - PER both ways in J on points & have some leftover for that trip in April. Or I've got enough (just!) to get either SYD - AUH or AUH - SYD in J on points for June. If somehow I manage to get more than double my current total, I could do both. I have a lot of flights & points coming my way Jan/Feb but I haven't worked out how many.

I don't think I need to make a choice now, do I?

Looks like I'll be able to do both once the points get credited! Thank you, AMEX!

Have booked MEL - ADL - PER - ADL - MEL in L for 200scs promo inclusive for a very easy silver retain - only $1300 as well !

MEL-AKL in premium is 240 points for about $1100

I fouund SYD-BNE-DUD rtn for about $1140 in premium, but am unsure if the Premium SC's count on domestic legs, not to mention whether seating would be in J or Y. Anyone have any experience on this one?

Can you cancel your fares or did you want to get to Perth that way in particular? You could run MEL - SYD - OOL return for around $500 and 160 SC's on a flexi or use that same route to position to OOL and then run OOL - MEL - PER return for a grand total of 440 SC's or around $1300

Hi guys,

One of the questions being asked is whether double Status Credits will be earned if the booking dates/times are changed after the 18-31 December 2013 booking period.

You will earn double Status Credits even if you change the booking. Provided the booking was created between 18/31 December 2013, for travel on an eligible flight within the eligible travel period, members will still earn double status credits.

If you change to an ineligible flight (eg. codeshare) – you won’t earn double SC’s.
If you change to a date outside of the eligible travel period (eg. after 1 July 2014) – you won’t earn double SC’s.

Hope that clarifies!

Happy holidays all!

I'll try this again for the third time. The app crashed on me during my last two attempts at replying.

Even though I didn't use a calculator to add up the figures, I am pretty sure I am correct. I even showed my working! ;)

Sorry for the newb question, but if I book a flexi economy using a promo code or sale fare is this treated as discount economy for points and SC earn ?

I want to go to Perth to visit family - have not seen them since Feb-13 and Skype is just not the same. I did not want to go via ADL but I will have 4 lounge access for that itinerary and it just works out to be 200scs. So I won't have to be concerned about Silver retain for a little while :)

If the operator is "Virgin Australia NZ". Is this eligible for double SC offer? Specifically for VA185 (MEL-NAN), VA184 (NAN-MEL).

It's a bit confusing when "Virgin Australia NZ" is listed as the operator in the booking system but not mentioned anywhere in the Status Credit page.

Erk,

Is this over 2 days ? Does it include coming back on the "Red eye" from PER ?

I've now booked SYD - OOL - MEL - PER - MEL - OOL - SYD for April.

Looking forward to more Vlounge time in OOL & MEL & my first Vlounge time in PER. Hope that Cove fixes it before then! :p

I just used TRA01 on Mel - ool & ool - adl in May and it worked for both. Saved a few $$ on my DSC! Woop

Hubby and I will be doing PER-MEL-OOL return in March for $850 each (huge thanks for the current promo code!), scoring 280 SCs each under the double SC offer, which will be enough to push me to Platinum and will also give him the 4 eligible sectors (plus a big chunk of the SCs) he needs to requalify for Gold later in the year, so very happy about that! :)

Effectively $3.01 per SC which is a good rate.
Best I could find to a different destination from PER in full Y was $716.18 for 280SC's, $2.56/SC
