VA Double Status Credit Offer

Just saw that too and can't verify it yet on VA/VFF website home pages or media releases. Wonder how AusBT got the scoop.
 
If this is true, not good timing for me to pay for a trip as I fly out for 2 months overseas in exactly 2 weeks!
 
That's a bit annoying. Would have liked to have seen this a few weeks ago when I booked a few flights for early next year.

What do you think the chances are of getting double SCs on bookings made prior to today but flying during the promo period?

Still, happy to see VA matching QF. Probably should wait to see a press release or something official.

Getting Gold back was going to be the easy part - I might as well get Platinum while I have the chance, don't think I'll be able to for a few more years after this.... Then its just 800 Status Credits, rather than 1000.....

I'm thinking of booking some Flexi's during that travel period. What do other people reckon: if I need to change the day I travel later on (as in, make the change after 31 Dec - but travel still falls during the 1 Feb - 30 Jun period), would I still get the Double Status credits?

Probably no chance because they want to encourage new bookings.

I haven't got the email yet, but the link in Post # 1 says: " ... Just book a domestic or international Virgin Australia flight from now until December 31st 2013, with travel to take place between February 1st and June 30th 2014 ...".



 
Yes it is a general offer. I have seen the ad for this on the VA FF website :D but have not received any personalized email yet :( Got trips to Brisvegas and Perth next Feb and March. This will help the re-qualification for platinum:D. Might even look at a trip to US/Canada.
 
I've put the wheels in motion to see if I can get my holidays moved forward a month (stated 80% success rate - I was in the other 20% this year).

When I get home, I'll see if I have any long breaks March - May. I'll be out of the country Jan/Feb already.

Glad I've held out booking my next year flights for footy in Melbourne! Credit card will get a smashing for the next couple of weeks, but double status, how could I not :)

Should retain Gold Velocity in April now instead of June, might even have a shot at Platinum!:cool:
