Hi All,
Have been trying to book an award J flight through VA on Hainan Airlines from Xian to SYD on 3/8/19. It keeps telling me no flights available. This is also the case for every Saturday after that until year end. This also includes Y class. A few weeks ago I was able to book this flight without an issue. Now trying to book another seat for a colleague but to no avail. Any suggestions as to what has happened?
Cheers, Mitch

Hainan Airlines is no longer operating the XIY-SYD route after 3 July 2019.

You might want to check on your own booking as the flight will probably have been cancelled!

Thanks Matt,
I called Velocity today and they inform that they have not been advised by Hainan that the route or flight has been cancelled. I explained that the flight is not available on Hainan's website or Velocity but they insist they cannot cancel the flight without penalty to me unless Hainan informs them of the canx. Should b interesting.
Cheers,
Mitch

Computer says no / sorry / goodbye. The 3 guiding principles from VA’s call centre ;)

You WILL fly on the non existent flight!

Finally after 3 phone calls to Velocity, they gave me a full points and T&C refund.
I had to ask to speak to a supervisor. This is after I called Hainan in China to confirm that the flight & route was actually cancelled for certain. Now coming home with my ole favourite SQ.
