US Airways 100% bonus SHARE promo @ 1.0cpm!

Now I can see the panic if people are doing extensive sharing chains and trying to squeeze in all of their sharing before the close of this promotion.

This!

Trying to build up points in few accounts (me +1, parents, bro) being new to this FF system, but if shares goes any slower, i'll end up with points in only 2 accts, so bit worried that US airways will think that the extra accts are only for me and my partners...

but i'll be happy to end up with any that i can get. Hope there is another non-target Buy promo soon.

Just to add another data point, I instigated two Shares on Sunday late night (our time, of course :)). These were received around midnight last night.

I've one more Share to go, which should easily make it by end of month. Then, I have a couple of bonus Buys to process, too.

My last share took longer too - did it Monday afternoon, cleared v early this morning.

Should easily complete all my shares by the 31st though.

The limit is on receiving. You can share more than 50K miles, this is from actually doing this, not just the T&C's.
I understand you can share as many miles as you like and just wanted to clarify the bonus is limited to the first 50,000 miles received and can share and receive.

So in theory I can share 50,000 miles and recipient receives 100,000 miles and then recipient shares 50,000 miles with me and I receive 100,000 miles. And I guess this is what most on here would be doing.

Correct ;)

If anyone wants to do a 2x share (50K you to me to start, then 50K me to you to finish), please get in touch.

My account is 12+ days old.

Did 3 x 50k last night, no confirmation yet. Last time I did the purchase, took about 3 days to show up on account.

I shared 50k each way between my wife and I on Sunday night (28 Oct) and haven't seen anything yet. I'm stressed since I then put a booking on hold on Monday for which I'm 20k points short! If they don't come through by tomorrow I'm going to lose my booking... Unfortunately my credit card could have been near to maxed on monday if points.com tried to process it (some recent ATO payments to up the points), and even though funds have since been freed up, I'm afraid they might have tried, failed and now cancelled the share transaction.

Have people been seeing the charges appear on their card only after the 3 days of processing when the points actually appear?

With the storm I may not be able to get through to the call centre to ticket anyway!

I did a share on Monday morning, so I will let you know when I get mine (currently longer than usual 36 hours..) sometimes it just takes longer.

I currently see that credit card has been charged (I.e. my available credit is reduced), however I don't actually see any charge or where it is coming from. I.e. holding value until points are actually processed 2-3 days later

FYI I did another share that took less than 2 days. Charge showed up on my c/c a day after that.

Seems to happen faster during the week, my experience is that weekends seem to be a problem, during the week takes about a day and a half.

The method is nicely summed up by blogger, One Mile at a Time, here:

Cost is usd567 per 50k miles.

Good news, the points all posted this morning. So now the next challenge is to get through to the call centre to actually ticket my held booking - that could be the most difficult thing of all!

I usually ring around 4-5am Arizona time and never have to wait long.

There are big wait times at the moment because of the storm, but got through eventually this afternoon. All ticketed and no issues. A great promo to get me the extra points required.

Hi smit0847
I have been doing some similar calculations but using some "extra" accounts to increase the total number of bonus miles thatcan be gained.
If you had two extra accounts (perhaps parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews etc might like to join DM) you can do the sharing in those accounts until you have 100K in total and then share 50k to each of your accounts.

Just as an example based on two accounts A and B, set up two more accounts C and D, wait 12 days and then do the following:
A buys 5K - result A5, B0, C0, D0
A shares 5K with C - result A0, B0, C10, D0
C shares 10K with D - result A0, B0, C0, D20
D shares 20K with C - result A0, B0, C40, D0
C shares 40K with D - result A0, B0, C0, D80
D shares 25K with C - result A0, B0, C50, D55
D shares 50K with A - result A100, B0, C50, D5
C shares 50K with B - result A100, B100, C0, D5

Like you I am assuming that you can share back and forth between accounts until each account receives the 50K share limit (excluding bonus).

A and B end up with 100K each. D is left with 5K but that could be kept for the next sharing promo. Even ignoring the 5K left over in D the cost per 1,000 is only $13.04 (if I have calculated correctly!).

many, many thanks mhen for these calculations - I completed this exact share formula earlier this week and from a starting balance of 0, now have 2 accounts with 100K each in them (for cheaper than the 100% bonus buy promo price)

Has anyone shared points with me, and not told me about it?:p
