Upgrading on AA

Hi All,

Just a quick one; is it possible to do a points upgrade as a QF FF on a QF operated flight if you are on an AA ticket (MIA-MEL-MIA)?

No
You can only upgrade a QF flight number on QF metal with QF points
You can only upgrade a AA flight number on AA metal with AA miles or other AA upgrade instrument (SWU, etc)

You cannot upgrade a AA flight number on QF/AA metal with QF points

If the USA-Aust sector is a QF flight number you will be able to try the QF upgrade lottery if an eligible fare bucket

As you live in Florida (by your profile) AA miles earning are the way to go. AA plat challenge worth considering.

you can waitlist for an upgrade on a QF operated and marketed flight, such as QF94, as long as it is not booked in a restricted class (e.g. N, O, Q, X).
