Oh, okay. I'll do that tomorrow.
Thanks very much for all the advice, everyone.

I managed to get an exit seat on the Red Eye, but it's a middle seat, so I'll be trying again closer to the travel date.
Happy Birthday in advance.![]()
Please let me know how you go with this.
What are your flights? I'd be happy to look up Expert Flyer seat map and show you what seats are available. Are you familiar with the term "T-80"? (go and search the forum if not...)
No worries - I'll be happy to share. The flight numbers are 568, 924, 925 and 571. And no, I'm not familiar with T-80 (love travelling, but rather new to Australia), but I'll make sure I check it out.
Need the dates, sorry... if you don't mind sharing.
Also, check out the thread's where people post when they are travelling to see if any guesting spots may be available for you on those days.
Middle seat in an exit row has me thinking the OP might be departing 00:05 on the 13th which would be a B738.
Here they are... hopefully I got the correct dates/flight numbers
Enjoy your time in CNS... if you like Steak, can highly recommend the Water Bar and Grill at the Pier along the waterfront overlooking the Marina. And Salt House is a great place for an afternoon drink overlooking the Marina and inlet.
I might use the Invitation I have for the other leg anyway, as I'll be Gold soon after this flight, so I don't really need to save it for later...
Tha Fish (Tha Fish Restaurant in Cairns) is also at the Pier (Dining Directory | The Pier at the Marina)... haven't been to it for a while though, so don't have recommendation one way or another... there's plenty of seafood restaurants in Cairns along the Esplanade.
I think the redeye in J will be really disappointing for you. There is no meal service as such. I did a ASA in January in J from Kalgoorlie-Per-Mel. The meal on the 737 was excellent and I found the seat more comfortable than the A330-200. I cant sleep sitting upright though.
You also might like to know that the ASA price in points and cash, Kalgoorlie to East is the same as Perth-East coast in my experience.
Q for others: if polardabar secures an upgrade on SYD-PER sector, but is still Y on CNS-SYD, is access the QP in CNS possible before the CNS-SYD flight, based on being in J on SYD-PER sector?
If so, then you could use your Invitation for PER on the way over... a few drinks at the bar in the QP might help steel yourself (put you to 'sleep') for the Red-Eye in Y.![]()
However, if my understanding of Freudian theories are correct, I don't think this forum is the place for sharing.![]()
