Upgrade check

Could anyone with access to EP check the following for me. I have requested an upgrade to business on QF2 on 11 Feb out of LHR. Seatcounter is showing as a pretty full flight except the premium cabins. I thought I would check to see if EP was showing anything different.
 
please report back on the success (or otherwise) of your upgrade!
 
Are Qantas very strict about upgrades from discount economy to premium economy?
I am booked on the following itinerary,
Mon 25 May 15:50Sydney 21:55Singapore QF005 Economy Saver (Q)
Mon 25 May 23:15Singapore 06:00+1Munich LH791 Economy Saver (V)
Thur 28May 07:45Munich 08:45London, Heathrow LH4750 Economy Saver (V)
and was wondering what are my chances are of getting an upgrade on the Syd-Sin leg?
I know I can't use points to upgrade from discount economy using the website but
I do have gold status and enough points.
Any ideas?
 
Your SG status might assist you in getting an operational upgrade, but that's it. You can't spend points to upgrade from Q class.

Be prepared to fly in the purchased cabin to Singapore.
 
Generally Expert Flyer (EP?) and seat counter are pretty much aligned ...
In assessing potential upgrade availability should I look at the relevant fare classes - such as C, D, I and/or J for a Y to Biz upgrade. Or do QF use a separate fare class for an upgrade award - such as U?

Thanks to everyone for their most helpful replies. It is greatly appreciated. It is certainly looking very full in Economy so could be overbooked down there?

I will of course let everyone know how I get on.

If anyone see any movement on the numbers in the next couple of days please feel free to post ;)
 
Just an update. Seat Counter is showing as very full down the back. In fact, Y is listed as 0. So we shall see how I get on!
 
Just an update with a few days to go. Seat Counter are still showing 5's and 8's in the relevant categories.

Looks like the second leg is tighter as when I query the segments seperately I get the following:

Is quite a good sign. But of course when the lottery is in play, then chances are shuffled up quite a bit!
 
Qantas website showing as the request has been declined. Seatcounter is still showing quite a bit of availability. I am not sure why it was declined but I guess those are the mysteries.

I think someone posted earlier that it was looking a bit tight for the second half of the leg from BKK to Sydney. Would the check in staff consider an upgrade for the first leg of the trip and the reverting back to economy for the BKK-Sydney leg?

However CMT is showing me as confirmed in economy but waitlisted for business. Anyone know why it would show that?
 
It's currently being processed; in 12 hours you may very well see something different ... or you may not ...

If you are booked LHR-SYD then that's where any points upgrade will be applied.
