The points should post after 60 days. So, I'd say 61 days.

This is right. The person I spoke to specifically said they will credit on the 61st day. It sounded like she was actually reading from a script.

Took a few goes but mine comes in at $33.29 a month, Exact profession, Salary put in on low side, TPD, all exclusions under off "View options" and $100K payout...min u can custom set....thats for 30k in points
12 months $399.48......now could pay with those woolies visa1 cards ;)
PASS :(

I did use the lowest minimum cover. Its probably because of my profession (nursing), high risk of injuries. Life insurance itself was cheap, but the added extra was expensive. Only need it for two months and get my points... worth the $74 for the 30,000 points I need.

I'm in a similar health profession with I assume similar type of risks including manual handling. Got my first charge from them so gotta create a calendar alert to cancel!

Clues, please? How did you do that?
I attempted to sign someone up and wound up with something the size of a mortgage repayment as a monthly figure. :)
Backed out of that quickly!

Do you know any professional advisers ? ... he or she may be able to assist :)

The magic button came up with $45/month for two policies .... I'll stick with the monthly ATO policy :D

I applied on Saturday, with my cheapest quote down to $18.52 per month. Life ($8.53) & total permanent disability ($9.99).

I can't remember much when applying, but I may have got a small discount for answering some questions as a no. I rang them just now wanting to go through with it, with questions like did you want stepped, are you sure you only want $100k cover, do you want them combined or seperate......

I ended up saying I didn't want a sales pitch over the phone, just wishing to complete my quote I did online. Also it would be easier if it would have been completed online, without speaking to anyone.

I just need to count down 61 days! (as of today I expect!), as well as keep an eye on the credit card used (partner card, westpac 100k if spend $5k) to make sure we don't miss the points boat.

Easy as, still not yet received the first westpac statements, but already got the bonus 50k points (my 1st bill is due in exactly 7 days from today!). Partners card I'm unsure, but applied later then mine

I can't seem to get it to work online, no matter what I choose. It always makes me call up and I really can't be bothered with that. Anyone have any tips to be able to purchase it online?

can't complete it online. It will give you a quote reference number. Just need to bite the bullet, listen to the bulldust and go through with your exact quote.

Huh, most of the Ozbargain crew can complete it online. Wonder what makes us different?

You don't have to pay for 12 months, only 2!

Perhaps they have changed the system due to a large volume of really low coverage options... hoping to up-sell?

I know if you don't call them, they'll definitely call you :(

I ended up calling them and was eventually approved for the cover I had originally applied for. I was on the phone for about half an hour and the operator went over all of the questions and coverage options I'd already been over on the website. I think the reason I had to call was that I ticked "yes" in one of the health questions and put the category as "other". So they needed more information about that.

A bit of a hassle, and the guy did try to upsell me a little bit (I declined everything) but we got there in the end.

He said that I would be eligible for the points after 61 days of continuous coverage, but that the points could take up to 28 days to credit after this point. Either way, worst case scenario is that I pay for 3 months of coverage, costing a grand total of $42..

OMG!!! Three days and three phone calls and STILL they cant confirm my cover  They seem to think that menopause is a deadly disease!! Try and explain that to a salseperson without any medical knowledge trying to flog life insurance!! Then no woman in history would ever get covered....
Going back to the Dr on Thursday, will get a certificate then.

Joined today, $6.90 per month! Now must remember to cancel the policy after 61 days ;)
the lowest I could get was just under 13$/month. The website did not work, thus, had to spend a bit of time on the phone, talking to a sale rep who wanted me to pay more. Looking forward to the 30KQFF, which will move me from Y to J in my next trip to SIN.

Jump onto this thread 30 mins ago and at the same time doing a quote on Qantas Assure.

Before I can even hit submit, I got a call from Qantas Assure asking if I needed any hell from them.

This is how I am looking at it also... perhaps pay an extra month, but don't cancel until those points are credited.

It'll be a shame to say goodbye to my bonus points in the App!

Whoa!! I just did a quote - was as a guest using fake number as I dont want them to phone me - But I got $474 per month!! Excluded the options and I got $378 per month - bargain!!
I have been retrenched to I put unemployed, so it seems being unemployed means you have to pay $100s more than everyone else it seems!?
Age might come into it a bit too - but that much??

Similar experience to ekkcheng... Missed the call as I was busy and did a reverse lock-up of the number.

Looks like they don't want anyone from my demographic (born in mid 60's) as even basic cover at the cheapest level was well over $100/mth
